This was the first time I cooked anything that wasn't dessert. Both the meatballs and the sauce are very easy to make. If you want more flavor in your meatballs, this recipe gives you a lot of room for customization. The reviewers that rated these as bland and flavorless must've done something wrong. I am a 24 yo graduate student, whose life is spent between books, and not recipe books, so, until I tried this recipe, I honestly thought I couldn't cook, and they came out REALLY GOOD. The sauce is very flavorful, and you can either put in chunky tomatoes or you can add the whole peeled tomatoes and put them in a blender before adding the meatballs, after the first simmer. Also, I didn't simmer the sauce for 90 minutes, I simmered it for an hour and then added the meatballs to simmer for 30 more minutes. They were cooked to perfection. Definitely this is gonna be my go to spaghetti sauce with meatballs recipe.
