I started cooking full meals at the age of 13. Around age 20 and watching many hours of The Frugal Gourmet I changed from a recipe cook to cooking with recipes as a guide. Many times I find myself looking at 3 similar recipes and adjusting them to fit my tastes. Guess I should start writing some of them down.
