Amena's Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2013
I always add a package of dry instant vanilla pudding mix to my cookies. I would rate 5 stars but I did make this one change which made this cookie a 10 star! LOVED IT! I will definitely make these again...but maybe not very often because we ate them all...I'll definitely need another workout this week:)

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2013
For years my in-laws have been fighting over whose lasagna was the best, so I found this recipe and thought "Why not join the competition, I'll give it a try". This was SO good that they don't even talk to me anymore. Mind you I didn't add any pork because my Sis in law hates pork unless it's bacon or breakfast sausage and made me absolutely promise that I didn't add any pork because if I did add pork she would lose her dinner at the table right then and there even if she couldn't taste it. Also my other sis in law had bad gas but I think that was from her being lactose intolerant and not letting me know when she ate all that cheese and ice cream on her apple dump cake...needless to say the event was a flop but hey, there were no leftovers! I'll make this again...for my kids...who loved it the way it was.

Beans and Franks Applesauce Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2013
I wanted to try a new beans and franks recipe just because I had some apple sauce kicking around I wanted to use up, and I'm very sorry I did. My whole family hated it including my little boy. . I followed this recipe except for the onion...which is good cause I just would have wasted a 1/4 cup of onion too. It's safe to say I'll stick to my old fashioned beans and franks recipe. =)

Sweet Polish Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
We're not a huge fan of spicey and I wanted to try something different with our polish sausage. Instead I replaced the hot sauce with some maple syrup and added a bit of cornstarch and cold water to a jar, shook it up well, then added that to the boiling sauce to thicken it up before pouring it over the sausage and popping it in the oven. The turned out really nice and everyone liked it! I'll definitely make this again, and maybe even try the hot pepper sauce sometime:)

Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
This was incredibly TASTY! No revising done either. Normally most Parmesan chicken I make REALLY takes on a strong flavor of the cheese but this was just so beautifully flavored I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. We will definitely be making this one again for the family. It felt like we were eating at a nice restaurant:D Thank you so much for sharing this!

Pistachio Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
This was incredible, I'm a big fan of pistachios but I never tried cooking with them until this recipe...it was difficult not to eat them while taking them out of the shells but totally worth it. My husband and son loved it so much they asked me to make it the next day too, and the raspberry sauce that's recommended with it was just YUM! This is now a favorite! Thanks for sharing!

Bananas Foster Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
I managed to stop eating this long enough to write this review...I wish I could have recorded the look on my hubby and sons face when they took their first bite, it was priceless! This recipe is a KEEPER! I served this with the banana foster sauce, I had no pecans so I used peanuts which was very yummy with the bananas, and a dollop of home made whipped cream! Very good! Excellent Dessert! 500 million stars for you, thank you for sharing this, I am now hailed queen of the waffles in my house:)

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
I can't believe I didn't review this one already. This recipe has become a family favorite and we have made this countless times! This by far is the yummiest chicken fried chicken I have ever had. Just thinking about it makes me want to go make it again! I've used the cracker crumb mixture for other meats as well and it always has a really great crunch to it. Highly recommend this one, I'd give it more stars if I could!

Cheddar Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
Raisins? I didn't add raisins to the cheddar muffins...but aside from that I made it exact and was not a huge fan. They turned out a little dry. I will try adding some ham though because they were quite filling and my hubs would probably like to take them to work for lunch if it were like a muffiin sandwich...a mandwich!

Saucy Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
Ok so this was pretty good...a bit too sweet so I'll marinade the meat in something else to balance it out as suggested in the reviews. I enjoyed the sauce, but my hubby was not a huge fan of the mixture. I'll probably make this again with only some slight alterations to the meat, not the sauce, the sauce was yum!

Dreamy Nighttime Drink

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
I also add a tiny pinch of nutmeg on top and a drop or two of almond extract as well as the vanilla just because I have some. My 6 year old LOVES this drink and has requested this when he has a cold or can't sleep. I also enjoy a cup of this every now and then myself on those nights I'm tossing and turning, it's very relaxing and quick to make!

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
I will never cook my roast another way again. My mother thought I was crazy cooking my roast this way but it turned out PERFECT! I added a pinch of salt, a sprinkle of pepper throughout, and just shook on my regular meat seasonings, garlic powder, onion powder, italiano and or steak spice, then patted some minced garlic over top and cooked it exactly as directed. Everyone LOVED it. It was a tiny crispy on the outside, a bit pink and wonderfully juicy on the inside but cooked just right! This is a keeper!

Chicken Crunch

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
Very rich with the Ritz Crackers, I would definitely have to serve this over top of something. It's an interesting meal. I may try the egg noodles as suggested but as it is alone it was just tooo creamy for me.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
This chicken was incredibly moist and delicious, but it was a bit too salty for me and I'll be sure to cut down on it if I make it again. I wasn't a huge fan of the cayenne in it, so next time I'll just omit that and use parsley flakes and some italiano seasoning. I also like to make small slits in the skin of the chicken and tuck a slice of garlic in the most meaty of places on the breast and legs. The garlic melts keeps the chicken moist and flavourful as well (for garlic fans) but even without doing this, the chicken is quite moist!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
I agree with a lot of the folks here, the sauce on the bottom is a disaster, but it is quite delicious at the top and it gives the meat a great flavor! This recipe is easily modifiable to add a little of what you like here and there but even just as is (with the sauce on the top of however) This recipe is a great family dinner!

Pineapple Cream Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
I made this exactly as directed, it was okay the first day...but it was INCREDIBLE the next day. You really should make this a day before and try your very best not to sneak any until it sets in the fridge for 24 hours, it's worth the wait! I'm saving this recipe, THANK YOU!

Stuffed and Wrapped Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
This was quite yummy, though I won't use bacon next time as it was a tad too salty with it for me. The stuffing and chicken go together VERY nicely and my family really enjoyed this one.

Shrimp Fettucine

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
Delicious! I was a bit worried about the sauce, I only added a bit more of chicken broth as suggested for the same reason (didn't feel like it was enough sauce) but the flavors of everything combined were very, very tasty! My son who is 6 ate this one right up. 5 stars from our family, and I will definitely be making this one again!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
CAUTION: These are evil cookies! This makes a LOT of them and I highly suggest giving some to friends before you end up eating them all because they are just that good! My ONLY change was instead of 2 tsp of vanilla extract I used one vanilla extract and one almond extract. My husbands coworkers have been bugging him for 3 days to bring more cookies! They bake perfectly, people didn't believe they were baked at home lol 5 stars!
