Flourless Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: May 14, 2013
Wow, this far exceed my expectations, even after reading all the great reviews! We served it to a customer in our restaurant last night, and he said we've come up with a whole new texture. It's somewhere between cheesecake and mousse I'd say; silky smooth. I used 3 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips as I prefer it over bitter chocolate. Absolutely divine, one of the best recipes I've found on this site.

Delicious Gluten-Free Blueberry Corn Muffins

Reviewed: May 14, 2013
One thing I like about this recipe is the sour milk; I find that makes a better muffin or sweetbread. I found these muffins a bit dry for my taste and not quite sweet enough. The lemon zest was an excellent addition; gave them a bit of a kick. I drizzled the slightly cooled muffins with the juice from half a lemon mixed with sugar, half a cup or so. I filled mu muffin cups to the top and got 14, and they were cooked in 16 minutes. I think I'll try them at 375 next time, with something to moisten them up, maybe some sour cream or applesauce added to the batter.

Very tasty, but sooo messy. If I make these again, I'll definitely use a base.

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2012
This cake is truly superb - very moist, very chocolately, rich and creamy icing. I've never tasted a chocolate cake this good, seriously! The only changes I made were switching the cup of boiling water for a cup of hot brewed coffee, and I had to bake for 50 minutes before a toothpick came out clean. I had no spillage at all when I divided the batter between 2 layer cake pans. Perfect amount of icing to complete the 4 layers with generous amounts. I'd give this 10 stars if I could - truly scrumptious!

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: May 4, 2012
With a few changes, this is a fabulous recipe. As another reviewer noted, 15 buns didn't fit well into a 9 x 13 pan; when I realized this, I had to made more sauce for the second (8x8) pan. The total amount of sauce I made (which I thought was just the right amount to make them nice and gooey) was 1 1/c cups butter and 1 1/2 cups brown sugar - this was enough sauce to generously cover the bottom of both pans. I also added peanut pieces since I didn't have pecans; they were good but I'll use pecans next time. I read several comments about them being over cooked so I baked them at 350 for 20 minutes - perfect! Thanks for sharing this great recipe.

Chocolate Date Squares

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
What an excellent blending of flavors! The chocolate added a perfect sweetness, the cake was moist with the flavor of dates. The nuts added a nice texture to the squares. This recipe makes a moist cake rather than your typical dense date squares, a nice change.

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2012
Wow - perfect in every way! Just the right sweetness, the pastry was excellent and the topping was exceptional. I was going to use butter (rather than margarine) and use brown sugar as well (cause I love it), but I like to try recipes the way they're written first. And it was just perfect the way it's written - thanks so much for an extremely easy and truly delicious desert!

Mini Pumpkin Butterscotch Muffins

What a delicious change! I make a lot of muffins, and this will be a new favorite. I made them in regular-sized muffin tins, filled to the top, topped with chopped pecans, and baked for 22 minutes. Divine!

Country White Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Excellent recipe - much better than the one I was using! I find it browns better if I bake it at 350 for 30 minutes - turns out beautiful. I brush the top with butter when I take it out of the oven, cause that's what Grammie did!

Creamy Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2011
Fabulous! I didn't have sour cream on hand so used vanilla yogurt. I had no problem at all using all the sugar/flour/butter mixture on the top. I'll definitely be making this many times!

Creamy Coconut Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2011
Downright decadent! It was so deliciously moist; I couldn't believe it when I went back a couple hours later for another piece and it was even better! The longer the cake sets, the more the milk mixture soaks in. My new favorite cake recipe - can't wait to take it to our next family gathering!
