Kathy's Award Winning Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2013
I made this recipe as it states without modifying anything and I have to say, I'm not sure how anyone can eat this with all the liquid smoke in it. It tasted like a chemical factory. I read the recipe twice because it seemed like 2 tablespoons of liquid smoke flavoring is ALOT, I should have trusted my judgment, it tasted like drinking straight liquid smoke. Maybe the recipe was written wrong and should have been teaspoon or something. Normally when I use liquid smoke I just put a couple of caps full, 2 tablespoons was a good portion of my small bottle. Sorry, just not edible, and I was a little bummed to have wasted a cup of ketchup and a whole cup of organic molasses which isn't cheap.

Tofu Parmigiana

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
I made this using the dredge in flour, then eggs, then bread crumbs method that others mentioned. I froze in slices for about 15 minutes prior. I baked in over 15 minutes each side, slice turned out nice and crispy. It was late at night, so I put them in the fridge and the next morning assembled the parmigiana. It turned out great! I will definetly make this again. I also might try alternating layers of eggplant and tofu because I like eggplant parm also! Thanks.

Thai-Style Peanut Sauce with Honey

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2011
I made this sauce to go with chicken satay I made on the grill. The sauce had a great taste, and really added to the chicken. I might thin it out just a little next time with water. Great recipe, thanks!

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2011
These scones were better than some of the other ones I've tried on this site and also better than Paula Dean's recipe I once tried. I made the recipe as ie, but substituted blueberries picked fresh from the bush instead of raisins. Yum, everyone ate them up at my brunch, none left over. I'll be making these again and again!

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2011
This stew is really great, gave it 5 stars! I only recently discovered I liked Brunswick Stew and thought I would try this recipe. I used the whole chicken but substituted ground turkey for the pork/beef as I'm really not a fan of ground pork. Stew was very hearty and flavorful, the bbq sauce really adds that spicy and smoky taste! The recipe made a lot, and I'm hoping that some of it will freeze well for a quick meal on a tired day. Thanks for the recipe!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
I made these but tried to go the more healthier route so used margarine instead of butter, whole wheat flower instead of white flour, and a mixture of Splenda/Brown sugar instead of white sugar. I kept all the measurements and remainder ingredients the same. These were GREAT! Moist and tasty, even with the healthier ingredients. I will be making these again soon

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
This chili is really easy to make and tastes great. This recipe is a keeper. I think it's better than the chili I was making using dried beans, so I think I'll be making this from now on because it is so easy and tastes great.

Avocado Shrimp Ceviche-Estillo Sarita

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
My husband loves shrimp and enjoyed Ceviche when he was in South America. However, he wasn't overly fond of this, thought it was lacking something, and he will eat anything! Since I don't like shrimp much myself I can't really judge. Won't make this again as it sat in my refrigerator and was a waste of shrimpl

Asparagus Appetizers

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
These are good. They freeze well also and you can just pop them in the oven and bake for a quick appetizer. I think they need a little more cheese than the recipe calls for, next time I will put a more generous amount of cream cheese mixture to add a little more flavor.

Creamiest Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
I love rice pudding and wanted to try this based on the reviews. Cooked it according to the recipe, it had a nice taste but a little too thick/dense and not creamy enough for my preference.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
These are wonderful, no complaints! Made them without a bread machine. These freeze well (uncooked) and you can take them out the night before, let them proof a bit in the morning, and yum, you have a great homemade breakfast treat!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
I love PF Changs lettuce wraps so I thought I would try this recipe, didn't change anything. The recipe was ok, did not taste "just like" PF Changs to me. I think I would try it again, but with ground turkey instead of pork.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
I made these by the recipe and they turned out good. Very similar to the mall style pretzels. I think next time I make them I will cut back on the floor a little as some reviewers stated, I'm hoping that will make them a little more moist when working with the dough.
