Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
I have made this recipe countless times since finding it on here a few years ago and my cookies have turned out perfect every single time. Usually, I follow the recipe exactly (minus the optional walnuts), but I have also made changes and substitutions here and there (almond extract when I didn't have vanilla, replacing some butter with applesauce, etc.) and they still turn out amazing. To those that have left reviews saying these are not soft: You must be doing something wrong - these cookies stay soft even after they've been sitting around and gone otherwise stale. One tip: If you mix by hand, like I do, it helps to melt the butter first, otherwise the dough is a bit dry and difficult to fully mix. I get so many compliments on these cookies that I can't imagine ever looking for another chocolate chip cookie recipe again. Perfect!
