Persimmon Cookies II

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2012
A cakey cookie I'm not crazy about, but could not stop craving. I didn't love them at first. The nutmeg/clove/cinnimon flavor kept drawing me back for more. A fall treat perfect with coffee or tea. I have a powerful producing persimmon tree and like to try new ways to use them.

Gram's Persimmon Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2012
My kids loved this. It's like a bread pudding with pumpkin pie flavor. Perfect with a sploosh of whipped cream on top. Not as good after a day, so plan on making this and serving soon after.

Avocado and Lobster Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2012
Beautiful, gourmet, tasty, easy, impressive, filling! I was concerned about the flavor with no added salad dressing and it truly didn't need any! I had to use cooked, diced shrimp because my store didn't have lobster. I will defineatly make this again. I'll try adding a few more things next time just to play around with it. For some reason I craved a squeeze of lemon over the top. I may try that next time!

Italian Style Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
I loved that there weren't too many ingredients and I had most of them already. I found it held together perfectly and was moist at the same time. I made this almost exactly as directed. Only 1 tiny change... I took the foil off the last 20 minutes hoping to evaporate the excess liquid because some reviewers said it didn't hold together well for them. It came out looking just right and sliced very pretty. The flavor was 3 stars to me. Not incredible, but edible. I would change these things for myself. 1) No diced tomatoes. I think this would be just good without chunks of tomatoes in it and 1 less ingredient to buy. 2) Add minced fresh garlic, 3 cloves I think. 4) Use red pasta sauce instead of ketchup. This is a good recipe and was very filling. I served it with caesar salad.

Cheesy Zucchini Casserole I

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
Very Good! I made this because I had zucchini and didn't know what to do with it. I thought my kids would eat it, but they won't. I don't feel it's too healthy because of the bread and cheese. Seems more like a holiday side dish if I were splurging. It tastes like stuffing with zucchini in it. I used seasoned salt & garlic powder since I don't have garlic salt. I also used rosemary parmessian bread which was really tasty. I could probably eat the entire thing. It's good!

Scented Applesauce-Cinnamon Ornaments

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Just made these with the kids last night! They were too soft to use cookie cutters on and transfer to a pan, even after adding glue, so I added flour. I did this before reading that people add more cinnamon to make them easier to handle. But the flour did the trick! They look beautiful and easy for my 4 and 7 year old to paint with acrylics. Such an EASY project. As for prep time..hardly any at all. We will make this an annual project.

REALLY easy! I never made a pie crust before. My kids helped and we ended up with a beautiful apple pie with an attractive and tasty crust. I'm using this recipe again today!

This was soooo good! I want to make it again right away. I used a grocery store bought BBQ rottiserie chicken and shredded it up. Very tasty!

Sugar Cookie Cutouts

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
These are tasty cookies that are perfect for cookie cutters and decorating. They are strong and won't break when you decorate them. But they aren't too hard! Especially good when doing cookie decorating with kids who can be a little rough. This is my go-to recipe from now on.

Harvest Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2007
This was the perfect blend of ingredients. I think crumbled bacon would be a nice extra in this salad and may try that next time. I found out Walnut Oil is expensive! I paid about $10 for a bottle and hope to find more ways to use it up. The dressing is awesome!

I didn't care for the red onion or bell pepper in this recipe. It was ok, but not my taste.

Pot Roast in Foil

Reviewed: May 28, 2005
I LOVED.. 1) that I only had to buy 3 ingredients! 2) that it was so simple to make! 3) that it tasted delicious! I would make this again and again. This is good for family meals or having company over. If you plan on really serving 8, make more! I don't think this would be enough. I was happily surprised. Even with all the rave reviews I was worried the gravy this makes would be too thick and rich. It was perfect. I served this with baby carrots (made seperatly) and a little horse radish on the side. We eat moderate carbs in our house, so I can only imagine how delicious this would be with mashed potatoes, as the submitter suggests.

Herb Roasted Chicken Dinner

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2002
This was one of the easiest dinners ever. I used dried oregano, thyme, and rosemary, because I had it in my cupboard already. I also used pepper and cut a cup up clove of garlic because I also had that instead of pepper-garlic seasoning. My whole house was filled with the most wonderful aroma when this was roasting. This is very easy and I found it to be very inexpensive. (I hate when I spend more on ingrediants than if I had taken the family out to a restaraunt!) The taste could not be beat when it comes to roasted chicken. I will make this often.

Scallops with White Wine Sauce I

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2002
This is an amazing recipe! I made my husband these scallops with steak and veggies on the size for his birthday. A 'surf n turf' kind of thing. It was an incredible dinner! This sauce is so delicious!

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
My husband said this was the best stuffing he's ever had! The only thing I did differently was I used 1/2 loaf of wheat bread and 1/2 loaf of white bread. The color variation was very pretty in the outcome. The only thing I regret is not making more! It's the only thing we don't have as leftovers after our Thanksgiving dinner.

Candied Yams

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
This was so easy and good I'm sure I'll use it for the rest of my life! I did add some vanilla and nutmeg before I baked it and I didn't use marshmellows. Everyone at my Thanksgiving dinner loved these candied yams!

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2001
This came out of the oven like a beautiful cake! I hated to slice this up into bars because the cake presentation was so pretty. I iced with the cream cheese frosting, let the frosting harden, cut into bars, then wrapped them up individually with saran wrap, and tied off the ends with pretty orange ribbon. I brought these to my friend's home in a cute Halloween bowl and everyone raved over these treats. These are so moist and delicious!

Baked Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2001
This is so easy and quick! My oven did cook the apples very fast so 15 to 20 minutes would do it for my apples. I would use this recipe with any type of apple, not just granny. This is really great with icecream.
