Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: May 5, 2011
Thought the cooking was way too long and it was going to be dry, but after putting the icing on and letting it was awesome!

Terry's Texas Pinto Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
quick and easy beans. Put them in the crock pot. I am from south Texas and missed the depth of flavor the bacon adds to a pot of beans. Will do again but with a couple of pieces of bacon. Used left overs to make an AWESOME bean dip!

Special Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
Nice alternative to steamed brussels without a lot of fat! Changes I made: no almonds, savory and poltry seasoning instead of thyme and bouillon respectively. I really enjoyed them, the sauce was a bit go light.

Sarah's Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
Really good, creamy, garlic, gentle favor. My changes: water with chicken boullion, didn't have orzo so used broken spaghetti in it's place. Will be serving with fried shrimp and brussel sprouts. Thanks!

Carne Guisada II

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
Being from south Texas I have been looking for this! Cooked meat in crockpot, took the meat out of the crockpot, then made the gravy with juices in crockpot, and returned the meat. Drained a lot of the fat off. Made lots of subs, but still tasted great! Used cilantro bullion, pace picante sauce instead of tomato, added about 2 teasp cumin, chili powder, and 1teasp of onion powder. Simmered gravy in crockpot on high for about 1 hour while meat rested. Then shredded meat and returned to gravy. Will definately make again. Thank you for making this easy.
