Mango-Peach Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
I used large can of peaches, frozen mangoes, whole milk and added 1 TB. vanilla. One of my kids that said he hated mangoes and peaches in anything but as plain fruit with my persuasion gave in and though added sugar guzzled the cup. I think it was the vanilla flavoring in this that really helped the taste.

Pork Steaks

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
I gave these a five since they were so easy to make and I and 1/2 of my family thought they were really great. A couple kids ate them, but were not awfully impressed, but so easy and I thought they were a 5.

Broccoli Cheese Soup III

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
Very easy to prepare. My family ate it which in my book merits a five since it is hard to get them to eat this type of soup. I did need to use leftover broccoli and this was quick and did the job fro me.

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
This worked really well, even though I substituted maple flavoring and used already made whipped topping. Used on homemade doughnuts for maple bars. Delicious.Just beat a 12oz. tub of whip into other ing.

Lemon Pie Bars

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
these were great. I took a suggestion and thinking I would like more filling 1/2'd it again. I think we would have liked them just as written better, but I rate them 5 since that was my recipe change and they were delicious either way.

Brown Sugar Baked Beans

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
These turned out wonderful, the best from all the way scratch beans I have ever attempted. Zippy and sweet. I just guessed and did not add all the spice and sugar amounts to the letter, but made it easier on me and all the combos made them really great.

Love this one. may not be the healthiest, but quick and necessary when pressed for time with ingredients which you probably already have. Plus it is cheap.

Crispy Chocolate Log

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
Doubled this and rolled it up from long side. didn't have butterscotch chips so used caramel chips I got at a markdown salvage outfit that were called "no need to unwrap" Made this for Father's day and I know it will be a hit with husband. He has been wanting rice crispy treats and this is just a fancier form of them. So easy and fun also. Kids enjoyed helping.

Scrumptious Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
These turned out great even though I had to use white wheat flour-being that is all I had-and I did as one reviewer just spread the dough in a 9x13 baking dish to make it easier.Just cut squares out, topped with the fruit and whip. Yum. Nothing left. I also did not use the cream of tarter since I had none as many had mentioned and did not seem to miss it.

Easy Sausage Strata

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
Because of how simply easy and the low amount of ingredients I gave this a 5. My family just never likes these things and I just was not at all hungry so it didn't go over well, but wasn't the recipes fault. People that love stratas would probably give it a five also.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Even though this was not a favorite to me, my kids ate the whole loaf and raved on it. I did cut the rosemary by about a quarter and I still thought it was too strong. But since my kids loved it as is will make it again the exact way.

BREAKSTONE'S Sour Cream Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
Instead of sour cream, I used leftover regular cream -of the which I needed to use up since it was going to go bad. Scrumptious and so simple. Husband said best he ever had, but was probably the cream that did that. If I make again will need to use cream for sure.
