Bread Machine Focaccia

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
I was not impressed with this bread, but my family devoured it. For the ease of making it I would have given it 5 stars and I thin my family would also. As far as my own taste I would give it just 2. I did not think it had any flavor, kind of like a rice cracker. added cheese would help. It is in my recipe box and would have got rid of it, but for the fam's sake will fix it again, probably adding some cheese to the machine.

Dumpling Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
I hesitated to try this since potatoes and dumplings do not seem like any combination I would care for, but the review of the boyfriend practically proposing and having ingredients that fit with this, I decided to give it a go. I did not care for it. Was to rich and actually felt ill eating the potato dumpling combo. But my husband ate 3 bowls and the kids raved, so maybe it's just my own constitution? Because of them I will make it again and just endure. I would have gave this 2 stars at the most, but gave it 4 since it was 4 against one at the table.

Lime Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
This was so good and so easy. Put the sauce on rice to have with it. There was nothing left at the end of dinner in the pan. Not even any drippings.

Apple Snow

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
Used already prepared store bought apple blueberry sauce so all I had to do was whip egg white and fold together. Of course - the blueberries being so dark this was not really snowy looking-but was delicious mixed with a crisp topping.(think apple crisp) and with whip on top.

Hawaiian Sweet Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
I decided to make this to use up some pineapple juice I had.had exactly 1 cup of it so used it in place of the water as several other reviewers mentioned. Had to add extra flour like many mentioned also since the batter was way to thin. I did not want overflow as others had mentioned when baking so put the dough on a pizza pan, making it into a round loaf so there was plenty of leeway if it grew too much. added 2 extra T. of sugar since lack of sweetness was mentioned. Came out pretty good, but like many reviewers stated previously:was bland. My family and I all though it was "so so." Because I had to adjust and since we did not really like it super well I merely gave it a two.

Mango-Peach Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
I used large can of peaches, frozen mangoes, whole milk and added 1 TB. vanilla. One of my kids that said he hated mangoes and peaches in anything but as plain fruit with my persuasion gave in and though added sugar guzzled the cup. I think it was the vanilla flavoring in this that really helped the taste.

What the ELLE...Over Night French Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
My family never likes french toast this way, but we had to be somewhere early so I thought I would try this. I used leftover sweet bread and a whole 15 oz. can of applesauce with double butter. Everyone in my family added butter and syrup. I thought it was good the way it was without this. It was easy to prepare and get ready in the morning and from my own perspective I gave it a five. Everyone else in my family would probably said two or three, but as stated they never like oven french toast no matter what, so I am just going by my own perspective with it.

Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
My husband loved this and ate several large helpings. My kids thought it was okay. I did not like at all. I can never find potatoes of this kind to compare with the ones my mom makes. I am glad my hubby liked it though. It was too runny for my taste. I didn't really measure just guessed at ingredients so probably made a difference. at least everyone ate it, which is more than I can say for some recipes.

Chinese Noodle Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
My whole family loved this. I had to substitute frozen green beans for the broccoli and snow peas. I also had to make my own teriyaki sauce. Used 3T. soy sauce, 2T. rice oil and 1t. dried ginger. Turned out great with no leftovers even though I doubled everything.

Strawberry-Sauced Crunchy Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
This salad was not all that good for all the steps and work I had to put into it. My kids liked it somewhat. I tried to follow the recipe exactly, but did not care for it.

Nacho Chip Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
I would give this a five because I loved how easy it was to put together, but gave it a four since it did not have that much flavor. If i had had time to go through the reviews I saw one mention adding taco seasoning. that probably would have made an immense difference to the flavor.

Deer Chop Hurry

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
This was probably one of the best recipes I have used off here. So easy and so melt in your mouth. My husband even liked it when all he usually like is venison fried. I did do the browning of the steak, though I debated whether to skip that step.

Colleen's Potato Crescent Rolls

I had to use canned potatoes since I had no other. pretty good rolls. Next time to save time , I will do bread machine as another states how in the reviews. I saw that too late. for taste I would give these a 5, but since they were kind of a hassle to me , I gave them a 4.

Baklava

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2011
My filo sheets were already cut to fit perfectly so I did not get the cutting them in 1/2 part. I added some chocolate frosting that I had about 1/4 left of in tub to middle layer of sheets in pan after melting. I did not follow the recipe exactly just kind of guessed without measuring (which I do not usually do, but felt like it yesterday)but still was good, not perfect like if you sold it, but really hard to mess up something with which contains these ingredients unless you leave it in the oven to burn-of which I didn't.
