About this Cook
My Name is Lisa,I live in Kent Washington where I am married with 2 boys. I am a housekeeper for independent seniors at a local housing facility, but will also work for others who are willing to take me on. When I am not working or cooking, I love to crochet, do needlepoint, embroidery, read and make friends on facebook. I love rock, metal and alternative music.I have 3 tattoos and looking to get a 4th.
My favorite things to cook
Italian food is by far my favorite, but I also like anything that says down home cooking, but am always on the look out for new recipes and ideas.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas is my favorite holiday. We serve the traditional ham with augratin or scallop potatoes but like to change up the side dishes year to year. I prepare two quiches Christmas Eve and warm in the oven Christmas morning before company arrives and serve with fresh brewed coffee.
My cooking triumphs
My famous pot roast .. with baby carrots and baby gold or red potatoes, meatloaf that I never make the same way twice and my famous spaghetting sauce are big hits in this house.
My cooking tragedies
In the middle of making my famous spaghetti sauce when the lid came off of the jar of garlic powder..

Delightful Indian Coconut Vegetarian Curry in the Slow Cooker
Very good vegetarian dish. I used fresh onions, garlic and vegetable broth instead of the onion soup mix. I sliced up the carrots and used baby gold potatoes instead of russets .. served over quinoa

Pineapple Grilled Pork Chops
Prepared this last night ( Feb 28th 2015 ) and it was delicious .. Followed the recipe to the letter, not adding or subtracting anything from what was written and it turned out great .. the only thing I did do was to marinate for about 4 hours instead of overnight. Served with quinoa and oven roasted brussel sprouts
