Three Cheese Manicotti II

Reviewed: May 1, 2006
Loved this recipe, but made some changes. I cut the basil in half, and used 1/4 tsp garlic powder instead of fresh (there is already garlic in the sauce you use anyway). I added some Jimmy Dean Ground Sausage, that I browned and chopped up finely in the blender. (Another time I added frozen spinach that I thawed and put in the blender, then sqeezed it dry). I used the Prego Zesty Mushroom Spaghetti Sauce. And for the final part of adding the Parmesan cheese on the top - I only dusted it a little bit. This recipe was a huge hit at my house and I'm sure I'll make it for years to come!

Creme de Menthe Grasshopper Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2002
Awesome!!! I only used about an eighth of a cup or more, instead of a fourth of a cup, of cream de menthe, and I think it was a lot better that way. I also put some of the crushed oreos in the mixture itself to seem more like an oreo mint ice cream filling. The kids loved it too. This will become a tradition for us on Christmas. Thanks for the recipe!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2002
Awesome! I made this for Christmas dinner, to go along with ham. I got lots of compliments. I'll never use instant potatoes again.

Chicken Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2002
It was good, but very bland. After following feedback from other reviewers, I added 1/2 cup of milk, and used low fat soup - these made for a great consistency. I used corn and peas, but next time I'll try adding try mushrooms and carrots with it. I'll also add 1/2 tsp. of marjoram, 1/4 tsp. of salt, onion flakes, and a dash of parsley to spice it up. Very easy, and worth keeping!

Magic Lemon Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2002
My husband loved it! After reading the reviews, I used 1 tsp. less sugar in the meringue, and it was just the right amount of sugar. This was my first time making a meringue pie, and so I didn't "beat until stiff" since I didn't know how long that was. I should have beaten it for a lot longer. I also used a refrigerated egg, even though the recipe said to use a room temp egg. I should have listened. The meringue wasn't tall at all. I'll definately try this one again though!!

Green Bean Casserole

Very good! I tried it with fat free Cream of Mushroom Soup and it was "ok". Next time, I think I'll follow the recipe and go with the real thing. Incredibly easy!!!

Very Easy Risotto

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2002
Seemed more like rice than risotto. It was good, but not what I was expecting. Not hard to make. I'll probably make it again.

Stuffed Mushrooms IV

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2002
Simply Awesome!! I used 50 percent less fat Jimmy Dean sausage, and low fat margarine to reduce calories. The sausage gave it extra zip. We couldn't get enough. Incredibly easy. Thanks for the recipe!

Easy Chicken Breast

Very bland. If I made this one again, I'd add lots of spices. The chicken was moist though.

Easy and Fast Cajun Chicken Caesar Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2002
I loved it! But I used only half that amount of parmesan and bacon, and added some hearty crutons. A big hit at my house!
