Baked Kale Chips

I am a potatochip fiend and a friend recently informed me of the pesticide use in potatos, and low quality oils used in frying. So in my search of salty crunchy alternatives I checked this out. The only problem is they are so good, I ate them off the cookie sheet and had to make more. They didn't make it to the table. BTW, I didn't have kale on hand so i used collard greens. I also had no salad spinner so I dried them with a towel. It worked perfectly. Also good with cayenne.

Mom's Fried Fish

I don't understand why there are reviewers writing in complaining about there not being much taste. The recipe is clearly a basic fried fish recipe. If you don't like simple, fried fish, add your own spices. I actually put the spices on my own fish after it was already on my plate, because my boyfriend doesn't like spicey food as much as I do. He loved it plain. I covered mine in cajun seasoning and loved it that way. Also, if you're complaining about there not being taste, consider using this on a thick piece of fish so there is more fresh fish flavor inside the coating. I used thick alaskan cod filets, so I had the best of both worlds: crunchy salty crust and succulent fish on the inside.

Vegetarian Gravy

I have played with this recipe many times and it is absolutely delicious! I use Pacifica Low Sodium vegetable broth. I haven't tried homemmade broth yet. I have never tried the nutritional yeast component, but it's always amazing gravy! The soy sauce can be omitted in favor of salt, but the soy sauce gives it a more appetizing color. The only ingredient you really cannot ommit is the garlic. I love this gravy. It's a good way to cut down on unhealthy fats. If you make this with olive oil, it's actually good for you!
