Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup with Bacon and Hash Browns

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2014
I used turkey bacon, added more veggies (carrots, celery, potatoes) than the recipe called for, and added just enough broth to where I felt it would still cook everything. It was AMAZING! I accidentally forgot the pepper flakes and it was STILL an amazing soup! So easy and SO yummy, I am going to bring it to my next winter potluck!

Secret Shrimp Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
Amazing! I made and brought this to a friend's house and everyone loved it. I used frozen shrimp without tails and boiled it first, then put in a mini chopper. I did the same with all the ingredients. I cannot remember now if I added some onion, but I'm thinking I did. I also think I added more cilantro and garlic then was called for, because I really like those flavors. I will definitely be making this again! This went great with whole wheat crackers, and also on Garlic Bread! YUM!

Slumgullion

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
This was great, and I forgot to put the cheese on top even! I did, however, add a few things like people suggested (some people said it was bland). I added 1 clove of minced garlic, a little chopped up celery, and a little chopped onion. I also didn't have egg noodles so just used shells I had on hand and still tasted great! I also added just a little water to the tomato soup.

Zippy Sausage Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
By mistake, I put in a can of regular diced tomatoes. Once I realized, I then added a second can with the diced tomatoes with green chilies. It still tasted good, and for those not thrilled about the "zippy" part (the green chilies do give it a little kick), you may just want to throw in a second can of regular diced tomatoes to tame it. SUPER easy recipe and tastes great! Definitely gonna make again!

Seemed a little bland. I should have added some spices as another commenter did. Otherwise it was pretty good.

Rutabaga Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
I found this recipe to be OK. My friend and I thought it was edible, but pretty bland. I think if we had some meat along with it, it might have been a little better.

Million Dollar Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2007
I wish I would have read the reviews before making this cake. The frosting was a little soupy so had trouble on the sides of cake. Topping and layers were fine, as another user also stated. I would suggest doing what other users suggested by either placing the frosting in the fridge first, or setting aside the pineapple juice to use as needed. Also, I didn't cut the cake, and just used two rounds with the frosting in between the two cakes to save some time.
