About this Cook
I am a wife and mother of 2 teenage boys. Everyone in my family cooks as well as my extended family. I learn from my mother and grandmother how to cook traditional mexican cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I cook a little bit of everything.I married a county boy so I learn how to cook Comfort food as well as my traditional Mexican cooking. We have also tried our hand at Japanese cooking. In my house my 2 Boys and Husband share in the cooking dues so we cook everything and all different styles.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Any type of Holiday cooking.

Fast Rice Pudding
I likes this recipe it reminds me of my grandmother. I did something different instead I used brown rice in place of the white since there is a higher nutrition value and I cook it till it was thick and it came out great.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes
I like this recipe but I did something different. I don't like the regular potatoes I use the sweet potatoes and it gave it a different twist to the favor.

Southwestern Turkey Soup
I had some smoked turkey left over and used that I Liked the spices the way they and so did my family. I added more meat and I did add a can of hominey instead of corn and beans to give it that true southwestern/hispanic flavor. It is a simple recipe that is tasty. I didn't have time to make cornbread or even gorditas but I will next time my family has said that this is a keeper recipe and that is a big complement coming from them especally from my son who is studying culinary arts. Remember to always add a little spice to life that is what make it exciting. Thank you Doug Matthews.
