Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread/Muffins
About this Cook
I'm always trying to perfect my cooking, not that I'm anything really special at cooking. So I joined this site to help me with that. I always look for the recipes with the highest ratings, which is probably why everything that I have rated has high ratings. I start with what others say is the best. I haven't been too disapointed.
My cooking triumphs
I made eggs benedict recently for the first time and unbelievealby they came out just about perfect! Used a recipe from this site. Wondering what wasn't quite so perfect about them. Ok I'll tell, I left the muffins under the broiler about 15 seconds too long. Slightly burned them. Proud of myself for trying, now for a Cheese Souffle....did I spell that correctly?
My cooking tragedies
Have prided myself on my chocolate chip cookies for years. But once...just once. I served them at a picnic and wondered why they weren't disappearing like usual. I hadn't tasted them you see, it was one of those days with lots to get done in preparation for a party, and I was too busy or worring about my diet. When I finaly tasted them....I'd left out the SALT! Made a world of difference believe me.

German Potato Salad
I loved it and so did the guests at the house warming. One even asked where I got the recipe.

Egg Foo Yung II
First time I tried making egg foo young and it came out great. I made rice and had them over it so next time I will double the sauce. I did not add any meat. I did add about 1/8 teaspoon of ground ginger to the recipe. Also I used my big fry pan and made one at a time but what happened was the 1/2 cup of egg mixture spread out too much making them thin. Next time I will still do the 1/2 cup per serving however I will try using a smaller fry pan in hope that they will come out a bit thicker.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs
I whipped this up on the spur of the moment. I already had left over rice so that I wanted to use up so that made it quick for me. Loved it. Just the right sweet, and not overpowering soy sauce. It's a keeper.
