My cooking tragedies
A Sea Scallop dinner that I doubled the printed recipe and inadvertently put 8x the amount of salt listed! Needless to say I was shocked when I went back to the recipe and discovered my error! Can you say, please bring me some water??????

Cinnamon Roll Waffles with Cream Cheese Syrup
Boy this sure came in handy when my teenage boys wanted something different, I didn't feel like cooking and needed something super, super easy. A few suggestions - I have a non-stick waffle iron and next time I will omit the cooking spray. Also, be sure to flatten the dough a bit. Finally, I couldn't find the corn syrup in my cabinet so I omitted it, added a bit of hot water and mixed well then heated for 20 secs in micro. Served with sides of bacon and breakfast sausage. YUM!

Baked Pancakes
I really like the idea of reducing the sugar to one tsp. Like another reviewer, I bake at 400 for 17 mins. If you have younger kids, make sure they're available to see it come out of the oven. It looks like a chef's hat but deflates within a few minutes. Just as tasty though! My family loves it served with fresh raspberries or even canned peaches in a pinch.

Steak Soup
The best part of Allrecipes (besides the recipes of course!) are the reviews. I needed a protein heavy dish for a freezing cold night and this truly fit the bill. I didn't pay close enough attention when I made my shopping list, so I ended up buying beef stew meat (still have ready many conflicting comments of just what that might be made up of) I heeded the advice of several reviews and used less than the 6 oz. can of tomato paste and that was with 3 pounds of meat. I added a lot of Worcestershire sauce and used beef broth and a seasoned chicken broth in lieu of the water. I didn't have carrots and family doesn't care for celery, so I used a bit of celery leaves and some shredded baby spinach. It came out great and so much better the next day for lunch! It's probably worth it to make the day before you plan on eating and simply reheat. Finally, I would definitely use a more tender cut of meat although as it was it was outstanding!
