Slow Cooker Beef Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
Delicious soup as written. Quick and easy. It annoys me that some people rate and write a review and tell us all the different things they did to change the recipe. They should write and submit their own recipe.

Key Lime Pie VIII

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
This is a good variation from the Real Key Lime pie. Key West would not serve it, however. And, people, PUHLEEZE.....Key Lime Pie is NOT green. It is the color of the juice. I would not touch a piece of green Key Lime Pie.

Chicken Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
Thank you for sharing....as most good cooks who have a tendency to add/subtract from recipes, I did too. But the basics were right here in the original recipe. I used Marie Collanders Deep dish pie shell (frozen)for the bottom crust and Ritz regular crust for the top crust. Put an egg wash on the bottom crust before adding the chicken mixture. To recipe I added mushrooms (small can), garlic powder, onion powder, a little Lawry's Seasoned Salt, black pepper. Covered with top crust and brushed on egg wash. What a wonderful pie this makes. Baked 350 degrees for 55 minutes. Beautiful golden brown, top and bottom. The basic recipe is so good that you can add whatever your heart desires to it or leave it as it is. Either way would be DELICIOUS! This is a keeper, so I threw out all my old recipes. LOL. Something was not done properly if it didn't turn out as above. The filling was great....not soggy or runny. Everything held in place. I let stand 10 minutes after I removed it from the oven for the filling to settle down before cutting. This is a no-brainer recipe.

Easy Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2007
Thank you, Lynn, for this recipe. I made two adjustments due to what I had on hand at the time. 1)Used two cans of canned chicken. Mixed it in with the sauce along with onions and mushrooms. 2) Baked it in a 9 x 9 glass dish. Served it with brown rice cooked in chicken boullion broth and onion powder. Delish!! You gave us a great combination.

Gnocchi Bake

Very good. Those that had mushy gnocci must have overcooked it. I did add and extra jar of spaghetti sauce on top before topping with the cheese. We like our dishes very moist.

Cathy's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2006
Absolutely terrific. Made it exact to recipe with the exception I added 2 bananas instead of one. We like a good banana flavor. Made it in two foil pans 2 1/2" x 6". No running over the pans, not sticky, just right and delicious. I forgot to add the chopped nuts to my batter, so sprinkled on the nuts and sugar after they were in the pans. A real keeper. Thank you, Cathy.

German Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2006
This is the true Potato Pancake (not Latke). We usually serve them on a Friday night (especially during Lent) with potato soup, bread and butter, the pancake topped with the traditional granulated sugar with applesauce on the side. We are a German/Polish family. Leftovers were taken in sandwiches with butter, salt and pepper for lunch. Don't fret about the discoloration...it is a part of the pancake and never noticed after fried up. When 5 pounds of potatoes are grated by hand for a large family, the discoloration is not a problem.Don't spend a lot of time and trouble drying out the potatoes, just drain in a colander and the flour takes care of the rest. If a little drains from the pancake in the fry pan, it will just add a nice crispiness to the edge. ENJOY. Our family has for over 100 years.

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2005
This recipe is absolutely delicious. Very, very tasty. Have made it twice. First time with the bacon drippings and the second time using canola oil instead for cholesterol purposes. Both were excellent. Since I didn't use the bacon drippings the second time I put Bacos in when cooking the cabbage and then put the bacon pieces on before serving. So it did get a lot of the bacon flavor. Thank you for sharing.

Cream Cheese Frosting I

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2004
This would be five stars if adjusted as follows: 1 box confectioners sugar, 8 oz. cream cheese, 1 tsp. flavoring and 1 tablespoon milk. The consistency then is excellent. Have Cream cheese at room temp. and use an electric mixer for blending all together. Great taste and easy to make.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2003
I have been making turkey burgers for a number of years. Nice of you to send this in, Trudi. But I always add finely chopped mushrooms to the mixture which gives the burgers added moisture, which turkey needs, and flavor. With the mushrooms added I would give this 5 stars.

I wonder what kind of food coconutpalm likes. This is an awesome recipe that we first had at the Outback. (What is not to like there? Which is why I question coconutpalm's food tastes. All those people standing and sitting waiting to get in at 5:30 and after could not all be wrong) Try this recipe and I am sure you will enjoy it. It is a 'company dinner' favorite.

Turkey Patties

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2003
I have been making Turkey Patties for a number of years. This is a good addition to anyone's recipe box. HOWEVER, I always add very finely chopped mushrooms to the mixture. This adds the needed moisture to the pattie, as well flavor.
