Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
OMG this is sooooo good. The only 2 changes I made were instead of water I used chicken stock and instead of the sausage called for I used Chappel Hill smoked garlic. I let it sit for about 30 minutes before I threw in the sausage....it became so think and yummy!!!!! I can't wait for the family to try it.

Birthday Bones

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
These were wonderful and easy to make. Here were my adjustments: intead of milk I used one cup of boiling water with a beef bullion cube dissolved. I added 1TBL of honey for sweetness...I also added a little bit of garlic powder. I found that it made way more than 18 cookies. I don't have animals so I tried them on my neighbors dog......she ate them up. These will be packaged up for my "niece" Sasha----cutest little pug you've ever seen.

A good way to give this as a gift is to bake the recipe in 1lb coffee cans, let cool and then wrap the outer can in pretty wrapping paper. Top off with the lid and a bow! Everyone always thinks it looks so pretty!

Cream Puffs

I loved the pudding mixture, but found the biscuit not very tasteful...but together they are good. It did make 25 puffs, but there was sooooo , much pudding left over.

Make Ahead Manicotti

Reviewed: May 3, 2004
Came out perfect.......way easier than trying to stuff cooked shells with filling. Also, to make it easier on me I put filling ingredients in a zip lock bag, snip one corner with the scissors and squeeze into the shells.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2004
I'm not a fan of chocolate chip cokkies but these were very delicious. I added macadamian nuts along with the walnuts. The cookies are crisp on the outside but very chewy on the inside. This is a keeper. I did have a problem with them sticking to the cookie sheet so this time I'm going to use parchment paper. Oh by the way....this recipe makes alot of cookies. Enjoy!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2003
I've used this recipe for years now....made a couple of changes. I use 5 bricks of cream cheese, 4 eggs, 16oz sour cream, 1tbs vanilla and 1 1/2 cups of sugar. No milk or flour for me because it makes it runny......the sour cream makes it rich and creamy. Also, if you have bubbles from over-mixing.....when you get all ingredients in the spring form pan, pick it up and drop it on the counter a few times....the bubbles will rise to the top and burst. Also use a water bath and you shouldn't have any cracks.

Strawberry Cake and Frosting I

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2003
This was good.....I was talking to my friend who has a similar recipe. I told her of some people whose frosting came out runny. We concluded that the recipe should be changed to 1/2 STICK of butter....not 1/2 cup. That will make it very runny. We also used 1lb box of powdered sugar. It was pretty thick so just add strawberry juice 1 Tsp at a time to get it the consistancy that you like. Very sweet cake. I made a double layer 9 in round cake....with strawberry glaze in between the layers. On top and around the bottom I made white-chocolate dipped strawberries....it was beautiful and Yummy!!!! Hope this helps on the frosting thing!!!!
