I am a married mother of two teenagers and I still feel old every time I say that. We are a military family so we don't put down roots very long, but I do get to experience different kinds of food and cooking styles. I am very passionate about cooking and my waist line can attest to that! I love meeting new people and trying new things.
My favorite things to cook
My all time favorite has to be homemade tomato sauce. It is an all day project but it is so worth it in the end. I also love making sushi. I just learned how to do that this year.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember going to my grandmothers and just watching her fuss over all of these pots and pans on her stove. She was the fried chicken queen. I always got to shake the chicken in the brown paper bag. We would also make banana pudding together. Though she called it Nana Puddin. It was such a simple recipe but it tasted oh so good.
My cooking triumphs
I don't know what I would consider my triumphs. I just love to cook and fortunately it all comes out good. My husband does say I make killer barbecue pork.
My cooking tragedies
The one tragedy I can remember was when I was 18 and just starting out cooking on my own I made my then boyfriend purple pancakes. I didn't know that you should fold in fresh blueberries at the end to the batter. I threw it in with everything else. Needless to say they came out very purple. I was very devastated and was in tears over it.
