English Muffin Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2012
I don't know what happened, but it didn't rise, not even a little. It wasn't a batter, it was a lump of dough. I went over the directions several times and can't see where I went wrong. I did bake it, it's very dense lumps of bread, but they taste good, and my boys ate it (boys will eat anything). I'm going to try it again to see if I can figure it out, because now it's really bugging me.

Butternut Squash Supreme

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
This was not good. My kids and I LOVE butternut squash, but my husband does not. I thought I'd give this a try to make something everyone could like. My husband said it was fine, better than plain squash, in his opinion. My kids and I didn't like it at all. I suppose the other reviewers are right...if you don't care for squash, you may like this one, but if you're a squash-lover like us, skip it.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
This was delicious, and made a large amount of food, which is good when you have growing boys! However, I did make some changes. I used 1 cream of chicken, and 1 cream of mushroom...this gave it a more traditional flavor. I reccomend using low-sodium ingredients, if you can, or it becomes too salty.

Easy and Quick Swiss Steak

This was so good, my family loved it. Quick and easy, just like it says. It was also an economical recipe to feed my growing boys, who eat a ton!

Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce

This was so delicious, I could have just eaten the whole thing with a spoon. It was wonderful on everything...ice cream, pancakes, waffles, my spoon! Yum, you've got to try this!

Lemon Icebox Pie III

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
This was so yummy, and so easy! I made it several times this summer. Even my brother-in-law, who doesn't like lemon, loved this one. I couldn't believe it! I agree with others to add the zest and juice of an extra lemon, otherwise there just isn't enough lemon flavor. I also whipped in some whipped cream to fluff it up, otherwise it's very dense and heavy. I gave this 4 stars because of the changes I made, but with the changes, it's a 5 star pie for sure!

Busy Day Barbeque Brisket

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
Hello!!! This was fabulous! My family LOVED it! And it made a ton! You'd never know it was in the slow cooker. I agree, however, to reduce the thyme. It was too much. Otherwise this recipe is wonderful! Night 1: I sliced it and served it dinner-style, night 2: I shedded the leftovers and served on buns. Great both ways.

Mozechilli Casserole

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
Ummm...Yummm!!! My whole family LOVED this, and it can feed an army! With growing boys, that's a huge plus for us. I took someone else's advice and put a layer of ricotta cheese in the middle (that's why I gave 4 stars instead of 5)...that really sealed the deal for us. A lot like lasagna, but half the work.
