Adobo Chicken with Ginger

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
My Mom is filipina too and this almost tasted like what she used to make. I called her before I made this and she told me to add a 1/4cup of water so that the chicken would be more tender. I had to also add a 1/4 of soy sauce because the vinegar was too strong. My mom never browned hers like some of the other reviewers suggested. She also only used thighs and drumsticks and she never used ginger. Next time I won't use white meat because the breasts didn't come out as tender as I hoped. The dark meat was good and it was falling off the bones.

Filipino Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
This was pretty good. It definately brought me back to my childhood, reminding me of all the BBQ's and Filipino parties that my mom used to take me to. The reason that I only gave this 4 stars is that my mom's was better. She used to use a lot more macaroni and she didn't use apples or raisins. I felt like 2 boxes of raisins was too much. Also, my mom used to shred the carrots instead of dicing them and I think she added diced boiled egg. It tasted pretty sweet too, with all the fruit, so I wouldn't add the sugar next time.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Wow this came out awesome! I followed some of what the reviewer, Krista, instructed. I used 1 can of cream of mushroom and one can of cream of chicken and 3/4 of a can of cicken broth instead of water. I also followed her advice and used 1/2 of a red onion diced small, but I couldn't bring myself to use canned veggies so I added 2 stalks of diced celery, 2 handfuls of baby carrots diced. I used a little garlic powder, season salt and black pepper and a pinch of celery seed. I used 1 package of jumbo sized buscuits and added frozen peas right before hand. I cooked this on low for a few hours then cranked it up to high for 5 more. The buscuits took an hour and a half. My 2 year old loved this! It was great. This was even better than when I had this at a country diner in Washington. I'll definately make it again. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2011
This was really good! I 'm from SanDiego too so I followed Impish's advice. I used a 2 lb. london broil because the chuck at my grocery store looked extremely fatty. I scaled down the onions but not the other ingredients. I have a 2 year old so I used a small can of green chiles instead of jalapenos but I did use a whole 5 ounce bottle of cholula's chile garlic sauce. I made tacos on corn tortillas with jack cheese, lettuce, cilatro, salsa and sour cream. Tasted so good that I felt like I was eating at a restaurant. My kid loved it. Can't wait till he gets older so I can try the jalapenos!

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
this was really good! even my picky two year old loved it. I will definately make this again. I used chicken broth instead of water after reading the other reviews. Other than that the only thing I changed was that I used celery salt instead of celery seed because that's all I had. I left out the extra 1 tsp. of salt and I cut the chili powder down to 1 teaspoon as other reviewers suggested.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
This was really good and so easy to make. My husband loved it and asked me to make it again. The second time I made it I forgot to buy sour cream and it wasn't as good. I also prefer Trader Joe's taco seasoning.

OMG! This was SOOO good! I can't believe I made it myself. I'm a novice and I've never used my broiler before. I used the old bay seasoning as others suggested. Loved it! Thanks for the recipe.
