Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2014
This is one of our family's go-to recipes. Since we are a half vegetarian, half omnivore family, we substituted Field Roast Italian Sausage for the sausage in this recipe and added some ground black pepper. Then we let the sauce thicken on a low simmer for a good 15-20 minutes to let the flavors meld. We then mixed it with a 16 oz pkg of bow ties and flavored the dish with Parmesan cheese. Quick and easy meal and the leftovers, if there are any, are wonderful.

Ghirardelli Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2012
A very easy mousse to make and very tasty and creamy. Not heavy at all or over chocolaty. This is definitely going into the 'keeper' folder.

Warm Dijon Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2012
I have made this recipe twice and there is an argument in the household as to if it taste better warm or cold. However, any way you make it, it is good as it is. The only thing I would suggest is to make the dressing ahead of time and let it sit in the refrigerator. The time to let the dressing flavors marry is worth it.

Chef John's Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2012
I actually made this recipe as is, except replacing the meat for meat analog so that the vegetarians in my household could also enjoy. I think with the liquid slowly reducing also help hydrate the meat analog which made the sloppy joes taste like the real meat version. As hubby said, who has been a vegetarian longer than I have been alive stated, it was better than his mom's sloppy joes that he ate when he was a kid. Two wonderful and definite thumbs up!!

Nutty Pumpkin Waffles

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2004
Pretty good. I also didn't add the nuts b/c of allergies and didn't do the pumpkin syrup. However they did cook out well. The flavour was a little weak for me, though perfect for husband who doesn't like pumpkin. You may want to increase the pumpkin a tad or the nutmeg a bit to bring out the flavour. NOTE: I have found that by putting the waffles in the oven to keep warm, if you prop open the oven door, they will stay crisp.

Very Berry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2004
Very good. We upped the brown sugar to 1/2 cup, as suggested and used quick cooking oats. Not as much crunch as rolled oats would have given, but still very tasty. Lasted only one day in our house!!! Highly reccommended

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2002
Wonderful recipe. We absolutlely loved it. I would just cook it in a smaller pan so that the juices stay on the chicken, since it has a tendency to spread in the pain.
