Asian Glazed Chicken Thighs

Reviewed: May 24, 2014
This is excellent; I followed the recipe exactly as presented, using an Asian sauce labeled as "mild, sweet chili sauce". It gave a great tang to the recipe without any hotness. I did add some cornstarch to the sauce while the thighs were baking in order to thicken it. The balance of all the ingredients in the marinade worked exceptionally well, and the chicken thighs turned out moist and definitely "mouth-watering good".

Hearty Hamburger Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
This is a great soup for a chilly evening or anytime that winter is getting you down. Other reviewers are right on with their comments about being able to add additional barley, other vegetables (sliced mushrooms for instance) and I used additional fresh garlic cloves (minced) and these just added to the great flavor. This recipe is certainly one to keep and keep coming back to.

Baked Pasta with Sausage and Baby Portobello Mushroom White Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
This is an outstanding, and easy, recipe which makes a great dinner. As mentioned by a few others, I added about 1/4 of a thinly sliced red onion along with the garlic. It's amazing how the heavy cream picks up the flavors of everything cooking in it and produces a totally flavorful combination. I used whole wheat penne, which doesn't affect taste but perhaps provides a little more nutrition. Bravo, Bravo!

Raisin Buttermilk Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
Great recipe! Only modification we made was to bake it in two 9x1 1/2 round cake pans and spread the mixture only on the top of the two pans of dough. Took it to somebody's house as an offering for them to have at breakfast; they couldn't wait and used it for dessert at a dinner party.

Italian Green Bean Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2005
We followed the recipe almost to the letter, just added slightly more fresh basil (our garden is filled with it). It is a very appealing dish and a surprisingly good combination - well beyond my expectations. It's also one of those recipes that is excellent if you are trying to behave yourself and eat healthy; good for almost anybody's diet. I think you could add more garlic and/or more basil and make it even better. We used Italian style green beans (because I prefer the taste) but I'm sure any green beans work well with the recipe.

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2002
A really excellent combination of tastes, with no additional seasonings needed. I modified the recipe somewhat by mixing in one-third of the sauteed leeks with the cooked potatoes, then blending about two-thirds of the resulting soup into a puree before mixing it back in with the rest of the potatoes and adding the remaining leeks and cream. It's a very rich soup and Half and Half cream seems to sustain the flavor while reducing the calories and fat content somewhat.

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2002
Tastes are quite good in this recipe, but you may want to bake the eggplant a little longer than ten minutes. We found the eggplant, even at 1/4" thick slices, was not consistently cooked at five minutes on each side. Other than that, it's an excellent recipe!

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2002
The barbecue aroma is outstanding while the chicken is grilling, and the way it coats all over the chicken (breasts in this case) gives a great flavor all through the meat. In addition, the chicken remains extremely moist while grilling, even at high heat. It's an excellent combination of ingredients which really gives outstanding results.
