I'm "retiring." Im selling my business and for the first time in my adult life do not have to work -- "thank you, honey!!! I plan to get back in physical shape, take care of my man, and find my third career along with volunteering.
My favorite things to cook
Healthy foods that fill us and use our local produce. Live in southwest Florida so all year long we have great produce and seafood.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I changed our family tradition of roast turkey to deep fried turkey on Thanksgiving -- thank you brother BooBoo. Its been a hit and is now being used by our kids and their families. My mom used to make prime rib on Christmas Day and now that is what I do for my husband and he loves it so that is our tradition. We have added "Honey Baked Ham" to our menu to keep our persknickity friend James happy. We use the ham bone for navy bean soup so nothing goes to waste.
My cooking triumphs
Believe it or not they are all recipes I have gotten off the internet. 1) Spicy chicken fillets topped with marinara and cheese served with a side of pasta and sauce. 2) New Orleans style chili using chunk beef instead of ground with lots of peppers, tomatoes, and beans. Saucy & Hot!
3) Prime rib - nice and simple. Just keep an eye on temperature gauge and buy a good cut.
My cooking tragedies
Cream of crab soup -- added too much sherry and it tasted like a fishy too strong cocktail. Very expensive mistake.
