About this Cook
I'm an almost 30 mum to two boys, lived in Aus for 4 years (I'm a Canadian married to an Aussie) and just moved home to Canada. My boys keep me busy, as does my business, and my husband's business (we both work from home). :) I love scrapbooking, the internet, finding bargains on ebay, listening to music, pole and belly dancing, working out, and snowboarding, just to name a few things!
My favorite things to cook
Spaghetti Bolognaise is probably my EASIEST dish - and if I do say so myself, probably the one I'm best known for. I LOVE cooking Vegetarian meals, and low-fat healthy meals... LOVE cooking home-made soups (I'm a soup-a-holic), and absolutely ADORE baking. (I have the worst sweet-tooth!)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Helping Mom and Grama bake cookies and stuff as a kid (that's why I love baking), and all the ladies working together at Christmas and Thanksgiving to get those fantastic, beautiful meals on the table. (Don't like the dishes though!)
My cooking triumphs
I ran a bush camp for two seasons, cooking for treeplanters in BC and AB, Canada. Depending on the contract, I would cook for groups from 17 people up to 85 was my largest camp. I learned alot about my own skills and abilities as a cook, and made a good amount of money while I was doing it.
My cooking tragedies
Oh... so many! When you're learning, you stuff things up, especially if you're "winging it". I think my WORST was ruining a gigantic soup pot when I was making a cream soup.... burnt about 1/4 to 1/2" on the bottom of the pot.... even boiling with baking soda couldn't get rid of it!

Zucchini Cake II
I've made this cake at LEAST three dozen or more times, and I ALWAYS get rave reviews for it. I even made it for my son's first bday (he'd never had cake at that point, so I didn't want to OD him on sugar and chocolate ;) ), and sprinkled it with icing sugar. Really moist and yummy, a GREAT snack.
