World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2014
I was not impressed with this recipe at all. It was very salty and came out dry. It may have been okay if all the extra salt was omitted and extra sauce was added. Also, I'm not sure if the original poster meant to leave out the "drain excess grease" part, but please drain it! Leaving sausage and beef grease in your lasagna is just disgusting. I drained mine as always. There are much better lasagna recipes out there than this one.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2012
I've used my mother's chili recipe for years and years and didn't think it could get any better. Well...this is better!! The fresh veggies in this are fantastic and it has an excellent blend of spices. I added a can of Rotel for a little extra kick, but it didn't need it at all. The prep time is a little more because you have to chop the veggies and there are quite a few spices to throw in, but it is SO worth it and this makes a huge batch. The sausage is also a great addition. I couldn't find italian sausage, so I just used browned and crumbled mild sausage in mine and it was delicious. I'll definitely be making this again and again!!

Strawberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
Awesome! Next time I make this, I will put more strawberry puree into the cake and save a little less for the topping. I like to have a little taste of strawberry in every bite.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
Unfortunately, this was not a hit at the party. When this dip is hot, it tastes like a bowl full of warm mayonnaise with a kick to it.

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
Make this in the microwave. It saves a lot of time, ensures that your chocolate won't burn, and is less of a mess. I like to put this over the "too much chocolate cake" from this site.

Antipasto Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
This is great for summer barbecues where a mayo based salad may spoil. It's definitely better after it sits in the fridge overnight.

Lemon Cupcakes

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
I didn't quite have enough lemon juice to give mine that noticeable lemon flavor, but they were absolutely delicious anyway. A few changes I made...I used AP flour with a tsp of baking powder per cup of flour, almond milk instead of dairy, and a third less butter than the recipe call for. I also made my traditional cream cheese icing and added some lemon juice and yellow food coloring. This recipe would be great without the lemon and just as a vanilla cake.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
This is, by far, the best soup I have ever made. I froze half of the batch and saved it for later. This freezes great and tastes just as good from the freezer.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
This is definitely a delicious, easy, and quick cake to make with ingredients that are typically already in your pantry. It turns out perfect every single time and is a great go-to potluck cake. I don't think it's spectacular or anything exceptional, though.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Comfort food at it's best. I added a few more veggies to mine because I prefer the variety. This is quick and easy to prepare and is perfect for a quick meal.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
Great recipe and very easy to make. I have tried over and over not to have mine crack on the top, but have given up and learned to love the "cover it with decorations" trick. :) Next time I make this, I will put more of the sauce into my cake and keep less for the topping. I didn't think that the strawberry puree called for in the cake was enough to give it that strawberry taste in every bite.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
My family loves this and it is very easy and quick to prepare. It's better to dredge the chicken in flour before cooking for a crunchier coating. Also, do not double the sauce. I tried this because I wanted a little extra sauce for my rice, but it turned out way too salty.

Breakfast Pies

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
These are great, but it is wise to cut down on the biscuits and filling in each cup. Mine overflowed all over my oven! Next time I make these, I will either make them in larger cups or use much less biscuit filling than is called for.

Beer Braised Irish Stew and Colcannon

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
Fantastic! I pan seared my beef and then cooked for about 5 hours on low in a crockpot. It came out perfect. As for the potatoes, they are perfect as is, but I added some dried minced onion and a little cream cheese and sour cream, which makes them a little creamier. This goes great with the Irish Soda Bread from this site.

Chicken and Dumplings III

I gave this 5 stars because I absolutely loved it. My husband on the other hand, did not. He's from Boston, so maybe he just can't appreciate good southern comfort food. I love that you can really put anything you like in this dish.

Baked Ziti IV

I love this because it makes a very large portion! Next time, I will divide this into two 9x9 dishes and freeze one to avoid so many leftovers. Would be excellent for company.

Fruity Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2012
I would even recommend this recipe for someone who doesn't like curry. The curry flavor is very subtle, but really makes all the difference in this dish. I love curry, so I added a little more as well as more mayonnaise because I thought it was a little dry. Also, I added dried cranberries instead of raisins. Definitely different and a HUGE hit in my house.

Chili Rubbed Pork Tenderloin With Apricot Ginger Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2012
Fantastic pork recipe! I baked mine in the oven instead of grilling it and it turned out great. I had two one pound tenderloins and baked them at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes or so. I took mine out when it reached 150 degrees in the center and it was perfect. Very moist and juicy, but cooked all the way through. My husband is already asking for it again.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
So tasty and so easy! My husband made a comment about how fluffy and delicious the pancakes were when I made these. (I usually use a mix) I love that he noticed the difference without me saying a word. I'll be passing up the boxed stuff from now on. This is a great recipe as is. Thanks for sharing.
