Recently married thirty-something who loves to cook from scratch. I consider myself to be a fairly healthy, balanced eater, and I love finding ways to incorporate green veggies into my meals. I've been told that I'm good at improvising when it comes to cooking; I'm generally able to anticipate what will (and will not) taste good as an addition to a recipe.
My favorite things to cook
This is tough, because I like to cook so many different things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom used to make a lot of dips, appetizers, jams, salsas, etc. Making hummus reminds me of when I was in high school and would come home to homemade hummus and pita for a snack.
My cooking triumphs
I like cooking things that appear complicated but are actually quite easy. I recently made tomatoes stuffed with quinoa and spinach (a recipe from this site) and they turned out beautifully!
My cooking tragedies
One time I got the brilliant idea to cook chicken wings in the slow cooker. It didn't even occur to me that the meat would fall entirely off the bone after eight hours on low!
