Adam's Apple Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2012
Very delicious! I just made the cake and couldn't wait to try it. My husband loved it also. My cake came out moist but dense. I actually beat the oil, sugar and eggs together first, then added all the other ingredients. I am going to try this recipe again as suggested and just mix everything all at once. I wonder if that will make the difference. Anyways, Adam, this is a wonderful cake and I will continue to make it on a regualr basis. Thanks again for a delicious recipe!

Homemade Butter

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
This is a great recipe! It's amazing how heavy cream goes from whipped cream to butter so quickly. Unless you find cheap whipping cream, this may not be cost effective. I paid $2.69 for 1 pint of store brand heavy cream. The way I figure it, every cup of heavy cream gives you 1/4 pound of butter. That means 1 pound is more than $5, which doesn't make sense. If anyone can tell me where I can find reasonably priced heavy cream, I'd appreciate it. Especially if the cream has no hormones, that would be even better. But this is a great recipe, and if I can find cheap cream I'd rather make my own than buy it. Thanks!

Classic Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
I just made these rolls for dinner and all I can say is "Wow!" They were delicious as well as simple. I actually simplified this recipe further by putting all the ingredients in my bread machine and using the dough cycle. I left all ingredients the same and followed the instructions for heating the water, milk and butter. I put all the liquid ingredients in first, followed by the dry and then put the yeast in last. Once the dough was done, I followed all other instructions exactly. The whole family loved them! I will definitely make these again. Thanks!

Mildred's Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: May 24, 2011
This cake was delicious! I just made if for a dinner party I had last night, and everyone loved it, especially my brother-in-law who doesn't really like cake. I only rated it as 4 stars because it didn't have the actual texture of pound cake ( it was a little lighter), but it was delicious just the same. I made it exactly to the directions. I will definitely make this cake again and again! Thanks!

Sour Cream Cheesy Potatoes

This was delicious! A nice change from just regular potatoes or fries. I served this as a side dish with barbecued meats. My family really enjoyed it. Thanks for another great recipe!

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
I just made this dough for pizza tonight. I have to admit, my dough came out sticky, and for some reason, after adding in the extra 1/4 cup of flour, it was still sticky. So I decided against using as pizza dough and used it to make individual calzones. It came out great. The dough baked up so light and flaky, it was delicious! I will definitely use this recipe again, and use extra flour to use it as pizza dough. Thanks for a great recipe!

Rice Pudding V

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
This is a great recipe. It is exactly what I am looking for. I made it exactly as stated but did not add the raisins or spices since my family does not like raisins and they like to add cinnamon to the top. I did not have a double boiler and this came out great being cooked directly on the stove top. There was no sticking to the bottom of the pan. The only mistake I made was cooking it a little too long. I cooked the pudding for about 45 minutes. It came out a little thicker than I wanted, so next time I will cut the cooking time by a few minutes. Great recipe! Thanks!

Sweet Corn Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
I just made this corn bread for my nephew (who LOOOVVESS cornbread) for Thanksgiving, and it is exactly what I was looking for. I also had tried several cornbread recipes, and they were all dry. This is like eating cornbread cake. I followed the instructions exactly, except I used 1/2 cup of sugar, and I sprinkled sugar on top of the batter before baking. It came out delicious! Thanks for another great recipe! I will be making this again and again.

Jewish Apple Cake from Bubba's Recipe Box

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
I just made this cake 3 days ago for my family that was visiting, and they loved it. I took the advice of others and used 1/2 oil and 1/2 apple sauce. The cake really came out moist, and now three days later it is still moist. I may use more apples next time though. I really like the flavor of the apples with cinnamon. I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
I just made these. They were excellent! The texture was even better than the store bought rolls. I followed the directions exactly except I used bread flour. I used the bread machine, and when I pulled out the dough, it was so light and airy. I can tell this is a versatile dough that can have many uses. Thanks for a great recipe! This is definitely one that will be used again and again!

Homemade Maple Syrup

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2010
I was very impressed with this recipe. I tried it because I was curious as to how homemade syrup would come out, and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't have any maple extract, so I used the suggestion of others and added 2 Tbs. of butter and a little vanilla extract. It was really good. I made the fluffy pancakes this morning (from this site) and used the syrup. The two paired together so well. Thank you. this was a nice change of pace from the store bought stuff we are used to.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2010
These were absolutely awesome! They were the most delicious pancakes I have ever eaten! And that includes restaurant pancakes. I thought the buttermilk pancakes from this site were great, but these fluffy pancakes are the bomb! They cooked up perfectly and were the right consistency. Thanks so much for a great recipe!

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
I just made this dessert and it was absolutely FABULOOOUUUUSS!! Wow! And it was so easy to make! The only thing I did different was I used half brown sugar instead of all white sugar, used half margarine and half butter, and used 7 Up instead of Mountain Dew (because of the caffeine in Mountain Dew). This is definitely a keeper, and will be made over and over again. Thank you for a great recipe.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
I just finished making this bread. Once it cooled, I tasted some with cream cheese. That's all I can say is, "Delicious!". As others stated this is very tasty. I made the recipe as is except I only used 1 tsp. cloves, and added in the pumpkin pie spice, as recommended by someone else. I also adjusted to cooking temperature down to 325 F, and cooked for and hour and 20 minutes. Came out very moist. This is a keeper. Thanks for a great recipe!

Cauliflower and Carrot Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2006
I just made this recipe, which I followed exactly. It sounded to good when I read it. But it turns out there is no creamy sauce. Actually there is no sauce at all, not to mention no flavor. Maybe I did something wrong, but I read and re-read this recipe to make sure I did everything right. I don't think I will make this again. Sorry.
