Baked Ziti I
This baked ziti is SO delicious! I followed everyone's advice and covered the final product before putting it in the oven, but I didn't get a crispy ziti at the end. It was moist, cheesy, and gooey in all the right places, but maybe next time I will remove the aluminum foil for the last 5 minutes of the baking time.
I seasoned the meat with black pepper and garlic powder. After browning it with the onions and added garlic, I poured in the tomato sauce and one can of mushroom pieces.
After the simmering was done, I directly placed the sauce on top of the first half of noodles, and then added the cheese, sour cream and so on. Following someone else's tip, I stirred the bottom layer of ziti and sauce together before I added anything else just to make sure that the sauce ran all through the noodles.
I sprinkled fresh minced basil on top that gave an extra twang to the dish.
