Coconut Oatmeal Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2002
These cookies are fantastic!!! I made balls about 3/4" in diameter and got 5 dozen delicious thin, crispy cookies. I added chocolate chips to some of them and raisins to some others, and they came out great!!! My family especially liked the ones with raisins. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Baked Oatmeal I

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2002
This oatmeal is wooooooooonderful! It's easy and my 1 yr old loves it, and I do too!!! I will say that in my experience it doesn't keep well.. it just doesn't taste right when you reheat it.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2002
Whew, this was a lot of work! It tasted really good, but I don't think I'll be using it again. It might have been the type of sausage I used, but it had a really gritty texture that I didn't care for.

Caramel Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2002
Tasted great, but it didn't really set for me. It was really runny. But it did taste good. I may try it again sometime and hope it comes out right.

Beef Noodle Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2002
Needed dinner in a pinch one night, whipped this up and it was a big hit! My husband and 1 yr old daughter loved it. I didn't have the beef stew mix, so I used a can of cream of celery and reduced the hot water by 1/2cup. I added a little cayenne pepper to the meat/soup/noodle mix. After adding the potatoes, I sprinkled shredded cheddar and the paprika over the whole thing. It was SO good! I'll be making this again.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2002
This banana bread is fantastic!!! I have made it several times already and it is the best banana bread ever. I don't measure out the banana; I usually just use about 4-5 medium bananas.

Cocktail Meatballs I

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2002
These were so easy and a huge hit at my playgroup! I will be making these again. I did double the sauce recipe, and after baking the meatballs the first time, I poured the sauce over them and refrigerated them overnight. The next morning I put it all in the crockpot and cooked 4-6 hours. Delicious!

Bread Machine Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2002
Delicious rolls! These tasted amazing. I will definitely be making these again. The first time I made them, I shaped them into 12 large rolls and they came out looking something like hamburger buns. The second time, I shaped them into 18 smaller rolls. Both times they disappeared fast!

Banana Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2002
I made muffins instead of bread, and they turned out great! I loved them plain and in milk. I think I will try more bananas next time, to soften them.

Cream Puffs

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2002
These were great! This was my first time making cream puffs and the filling turned out delicious. I thought the shells tasted too strongly of eggs, but my husband loved them. I will be making these again and again.

Egg Salad I

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2002
I think it was the dill weed that made the flavor too strong for me. I added celery to give it some crunch, and that worked out well. I might try it again with less dill weed or maybe without any.

Ortega® Fiesta Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2002
This wasn't too difficult to make, and it tasted fair, but I'm not sure if I'd make it again. My husband thought there was too much bread and not enough meat. My problem might have been with the type of cornbread I used, but I thought it was too sweet to go well with the taco filling. We love mexican food, but this wasn't one of our favorites.

Manicotti

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2002
This was easy to make and tasted great! I wish I'd undercooked the shells to make them easier to fill. I added some cooked turkey sausage for my "it's not a meal without meat" husband with good results. Only thing I would suggest is covering the baking dish with foil and cooking for 35 minutes unstead of 45.
