About this Cook
I am a wife and mother of two. I work two jobs and am a director/actress in community theatre. I love to cook and bake. I have been doing both for over 30 years.
My favorite things to cook
Thanksgiving Dinner (the whole dinner)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make the desserts for every holiday gathering.
My cooking triumphs
I have two recipes in Taste of Home magazine. One for Country Fried Steak w/ Herb Gravy and one for Raspberry Walnut Torte, which I have noticed is also in Allrecipes! Thanks!
My cooking tragedies
A beef stew that I had added a little too much of a particular spice which resulted in my future husband and me throwing up all night. He still married me and hasn't had a bad meal since!

Apple Crumble Pie
This was an excellent pie. I followed others advice about stirring together the apples with the flour and sugar. I used half brown and half white sugar. I used a variety of different apples, some sweet, some tart, and added caramel bits to the filling. It won best-tasting pie at our PI contest! It slices beautifully.
