Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Almond-Crusted Halibut Crystal Symphony

I am incredibly picky when it comes to my fish, but this was heavenly!!! Everything about it was perfect! Yes, the beurre blanc was very time-consuming but again - heavenly! This is not a recipe I will use in my day-to-day cooking, but it will be the first one I whip out for a special occasion! The only modification I made was instead of halibut, I used tilapia (only because HyVee didn't have any fresh halibut and they had just received the tilapia an hour before I bought it). Thank you, Susan W., for sharing my new favorite seafood dish!!!

Key Lime Pie VII

I have never eaten/made a key lime pie before using this recipe, and to be completely honest, I don't think I will ever use/eat another recipe, apart from this one, for as long as I live. THIS WAS DELICIOUS!!! Yes, it is incredibly tedious to squeeze all those little limes, but oh-so worth it! Thanks to a fellow reviewer, I used a garlic press to help with the juicing process (ALL HAIL THIS REVIEWER!!!), and it probably saved me an hour in itself! I don't know if it the limes were simply out of season, but I called every single grocery/health food store in town, in search of key limes, and Schnucks was the only store that carried them! Regardless, this recipe in to die for, and I will absolutely make it again!!! Also, I used the "Graham Cracker Crust I" recipe on here in lieu of a store bought crust - the two went together perfectly!!! Thanks for sharing!

Brussels Sprouts in a Sherry Bacon Cream Sauce

LOVE. THIS. RECIPE! If I could give it 100 stars, I would! Brussels Sprouts are, by far, my favorite vegetable and these were absolutely delicious - unhealthy, but delicious! I believe the only modifications I made were: pancetta instead of bacon, 86 the mushrooms (simply because I didn't have any at home), and I added a little red wine vinegar in addition to the sherry.

Papa Drexler's Bavarian Pretzels

I like the general idea of this recipe and was super excited about having all the ingredients on hand; however, I was rather disappointed overall. As other reviewers mentioned, the traditional pretzel shape is virtually impossible to master. It very well may have been me, but I also had a rather difficult time with the twists. I finally gave up on the fun shapes and made little bites. Secondly, no matter how much I greased the baking sheets/how much wax paper I put over top (with spray butter on top of that), the pretzels still stuck. Apart from the shape and sticking issues, I was not impressed with the flavor of this pretzel. Again, it very well may have been something I did wrong, but I probably won't ever make these again. :-/
