Cranberry Upside-Down Sour Cream Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
Yum, yum! I made this as directed, except for AP flour as I had no cake flour on hand. It was delicious! Pretty sweet though. Maybe I will cut down on the sugar a bit next time. I also like the reviewers who suggested the orange zest, orange juice and then garnishing with orange slices. I will try that next time. Oh BTW, my batter was too thick to 'pour'. I had to spread it around on the cranberries as best I could, but still did not get it all the way to the edge of the pan. Once it baked though, it had spread cleanly to the edges, no problem.

Grandma's Orange Milk Sherbet

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
I finally made this delicious sounding dessert, and it did not disappoint! I had only reduced fat milk, so subbed one cup with heavy cream. One other change was according to plan: replaced the sugar with liquid vanilla stevia and used a whole 24 oz. can of pineapple and its juice. Fantastic! I ran this in the blender and then poured into icecube trays. The next day, I ran the cubes through the blender again and made a smoothie that reminded me of both Orange Julius or non-alcohol Pina Colada. So I may try making this next time using coconut milk.

Chocolate Zucchini Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
Very good! I followed the recipe exactly. The muffins were moist and tasty. I could not really taste the spices... would not have known spices were in it, if I were not the one who made them. Also didn't really taste the zucchini. I might try doubling the spices next time and maybe using walnut oil for the oil. Another tasty addition might be a little dry instant expresso/ coffee.

Tri-Tip Rub

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
Yes! This was exactly as great as I remember it. I lived near Santa Maria for two years in the 80's, when I first experienced this Tri-tip. It was DH's first time having it and he LOVED it! We followed the tips of some of the reviewers and added a little parsley and I used a teaspoon of brown sugar. (I am not sure my dry parsley added any flavor). We cooked it on the grill, using hardwood kindling to get the charcoals going (no lighter fluid), then added hickory sawdust to the coals right before covering the grill for some awesome hickory smoked flavor!

Rosemary Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
Thank you, Kelly... absolutely fantastic! I used fresh Kennebec potatoes straight from the garden, fresh rosemary and also an onion from the garden. Also garlic from the garden instead of garlic salt, adding sea salt. I took the one reviewers tip of turning on the broiler for a minutes to crispen the potatoes right before serving.... Sooooo yummy! Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside---delicious all over.

Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
It was different. I don't think it was better than plain fresh strawberries with perhaps a dollop of fresh whipped cream. DH was not crazy about it.

Master Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
This was the best pizza crust I have ever made! I followed the recipe exactly (almost-- I added a tsp of sugar). I did let it over rise- because I was waiting on DH to get home. I punched it down and divided it in two for the two thin crusts. I used a pizza stone that was pre-heated with the oven. I used oiled parchment paper to roll out the dough with my fingers and then added the toppings. I then pulled the preheated stone from the oven and slid the pizza onto the stone, leaving it on the paper. It turned out crispy and thin, and was browned perfectly on the edges of the crust and even underneath. Great kudos received from DH.
