My son loves them! Very soft cookies. The only thing I might change is add a little salt.

Louisiana Shrimp Creole II

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2003
I loved that this was so fast and easy, but I did think it was quite bland. I added about a 1/4 cup of red wine which helped alot, and 2 Tbls of parsley. Next time I might would replace the stewed tomatos and tomato sauce for diced tomatos and see how that works. I thought the tomato flavor was too strong.

Grandma's Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2003
These are great! I liked the Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits the best, rather than the cheaper brand flaky style. I rolled some in cinnamon and sugar while still hot and some I frosted with the Satiny Chocolate Glaze recipe after they cooled. Try the frosted with a sprinkle of coconut. Yum!

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2003
The best baked/breaded chicken! I made half as the recipe said and half low fat, and the low fat were pretty darn good, just didn't have the same nice texture of the reg. Do this for lower fat: Use reduced fat Ritz crackers, dip in egg beaters, and spray the pan down and the top of the chicken with butter flavored cooking spray.

Best of the Best Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2003
Awesome! I did kindof think the topping was a little too hard right out of the oven and thought they were better the next day.

Much better than the traditional cookies I grew up with. Better taste and texture and keeps their shape during baking. They also stay soft for days.

Coconut Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2003
This very well could be the most delicious thing I ever tasted!!! Mine for some reason was ready in about 40 min, not 1 hour. I had no fresh coconut so I added 1/2 cup extra flaked coconut and used buttermilk bread instead of french.

Gordo's Good Venison

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2003
I used backstrap. The only thing I added was a little liquid smoke. I marinated all night and half the next day and I wouldn't suggest that because the rosemary taste was so strong. I was thinking of cutting back on the rosemary next time. But overall compliments the venison well.

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2003
These are perfect chick. ench. I browned my chicken with a little liquid smoke and garlic, then simmered in broth for a little while. I used corn tort. instead of flour. And used half monterey jack and half blanco queso(white processed cheese loaf which you probably won't find unless you live in South Texas. Sliced olives sprinkled on top would have set these off!

Graham Cracker Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2003
These are awesome for a quick casual sweet! And SUPER easy! Mine were a little mushy in the middle too, but I didn't have a problem with that. I used Nestle Milk Chocolate bars for the topping but would not suggest it, they did not melt well. I would take a pevious reviewer's suggestion and use the milk choc. chips with a little bit of p.b. These would be great with ice cream on top I think.

Barbecued Beef Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2003
This is a good basic recipe, but I agreed with others that it had too much vinegar, and not enough flavor. I cooked mine in the slow cooker on low about 9 hours and that was good. I added brown sugar instead of white, garlic, liquid smoke, ketchup and dijon mustard. That made it better.

Aunt Cora's World's Greatest Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2003
These did not seem like they would be very spectacular because of their simplicity. But they were!! Very rich and chewy, but for those who thought they did not have much flavor, my suggestion would be to add 1 tsp. of vanilla and 1/4 tsp. salt and just make sure you take them out of the oven when the middles look underdone but the outside just starts to turn brown. Let them cool a minute and they firm up fast.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2003
Oh man, these were so good, every one who tasted them loved them. I was afraid they didn't come out right, cause I used 1 cup of butter flavored crisco instead of butter and shortening, but it didn't hurt them at all. Just make sure you add 6 tsp of water with it.

Sesame Chicken Strips with Sweet Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2003
I liked these, my son even did too. I did not have any dry mustard, so I subbed dijon mustard for some of the mayo and it worked. I would suggest putting a light coating of the mayo mixture on the chicken, if you lather it on, they will turn out more gooey than crispy. Overall these were a very flavorful method for making a healthy alternative to fried chichen. I made them more low-fat by using low fat mayo and reduced fat club crackers.
