Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2014
So glad for real cobbler! I just bought an 1/8 of a bushel of fresh Hill Country peaches, and wanted to use some in a cobbler. I HATE "cobbler" that is just peach pie in a casserole dish. This is the real deal, tastes great, and I had every single ingredient on hand. Thanks so much! I did add some toasted pecans to it, just because that's what we like at my house.

I make a triple batch of this for my family every Easter, and it disappears every year! I literally have the kids fighting over who gets the last of it! Thank you for this delicious, simple recipe

Cream Cheese Frosting with Brown Butter and Bourbon

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
Superb frosting! I made it exactly as written, except I doubled the recipe. I used this on Sam's famous carrot cake from this site, and it was perfect. A silky, complex frosting, that was perfectly sweet. I made this cake and frosting for a wedding, and it was a huge hit! Thank you so much. For the pine person who reviewed this negatively, my guess is that you didn't brown the butter properly, as that can be tricky.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
This was spectacular! I made this cake for a wedding, and paired it with the brown butter bourbon cream cheese frosting. The only changes I made were to add 1/4 tsp nutmeg as another reviewer recommended, and I soaked the raisins over night in brandy. This was phenomenal, and there was only enough cake left for the bride and groom's anniversary cake. Thank you for sharing this! I well keep this recipe close at hand, and it will be made often

Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
Peanut butter perfection! I'm so pleased with this! I followed some of the reviewers tips, and cut the sugar in half, upped the pb to 1 1/2 cups, and needed just a touch more cream, and it is exactly what I wanted for my fledgling business. I used Reeses brand peanut butter, and it is divine! I almost didn't get one of my own cupcakes!

Our Favorite Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
This turned out beautifully! The batter was perfect and fluffy. It looked almost like chocolate pudding (i had to keep fighting the urge to eat it with a spoon!), and baked up nicely as cupcakes. I made a few changes. I used four ounces of chocolate, because I was pairing it with a very sweet frosting, and wanted it to have a deeper chocolate flavor, I used cake flour instead of all-purpose, and I used the suggestion of cream rather than milk. This will be my go-to chocolate cake! Thank you so much!
