Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
First time I've had a cream-based ham soup. This turned out spectacularly. The cream-base is definitely suitable for a chicken-corn noodle soup I'm going to try next week.

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
I prefer to do my ham up in the oven normally... but this Christmas I was pressed for time and had to make the meal Christmas eve. You can't ask for a simpler recipe and the resulting taste will please all but the fussier palates.

Onion Pan-Fried Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2011
This recipe resulted in some very moist, tender and flavorful porkchops. I did add some garlic, pepper and salt to taste. Served with creamy mashed potatoes and cheesy broccoli. Even my daughter, who 'hates porkchops', was caught grabbing a couple bites of these.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
This was a phenomenal recipe for meatballs! I made a bunch of minis just to try it out and have now saved it as my new defacto meatball recipe. Other than not having sea salt, I followed this to the 't'.

Easy Mushroom Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
This was fantastic and an easy prep. Only thing I changed was to add fresh mushrooms rather than canned. Yummy!

Black-Eyed Pea Chowder

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
This is absolutely delicious. Similar to others, I used chicken broth instead of the beef consomme, two cans of Blackeye Peas and one can of spicy chipotle tomatoes.

Brunch Egg Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
Very easy to make, tasty and versatile. Made for brunch and had plenty left-over for breakfast the next day. Great way to make use of random refrigerator ingredients (ie, sausage, bacon, ham, onions, etc.).

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
This makes a VERY tasty and moist burger. Lots of room to personalize this recipe as well without ruining the final product. Saving this one to my recipe box.

I tried this, but didn't have the rye bread... so subsituted tomato/garlic/cheese focacia bread. Fantastic!!!!

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2003
This recipe turned out very nicely. However, the caraway seeds transferred a bit too much of their flavor to the mix. Next time, I'll probably go very lightly on the caraway seeds, or maybe just do without or substitute for another spice.

Piggy Wiggys

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2003
This variation of what I grew up knowing as "Pigs-in-a-blanket" is a tasty appetizer. I changed the recipe just a bit, and used apple cinnamon breakfast sausage. Wonderfully delicious. The kids (and myself of course) devoured them.
