About this Cook
Enjoy cooking for myself and others. Father of two (blessed with one boy, one girl) and an I.T. professional.
My favorite things to cook
Breakfast. Roasts. Soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Chili on Halloween. Turkey on Thanksgiving. Ham on Christmas and Easter. Pork roast on New Years. Breakfast on Sunday mornings.
My cooking triumphs
Each 'falling-off-the-bone' roast.
My cooking tragedies
Worst tragedy was accidentally using white wine vinegar in my green-bean casserole recipe for Christmas '06. Uggh....

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
First time I've had a cream-based ham soup. This turned out spectacularly. The cream-base is definitely suitable for a chicken-corn noodle soup I'm going to try next week.

Slow Cooker Ham
I prefer to do my ham up in the oven normally... but this Christmas I was pressed for time and had to make the meal Christmas eve. You can't ask for a simpler recipe and the resulting taste will please all but the fussier palates.

Onion Pan-Fried Pork Chops
This recipe resulted in some very moist, tender and flavorful porkchops. I did add some garlic, pepper and salt to taste. Served with creamy mashed potatoes and cheesy broccoli. Even my daughter, who 'hates porkchops', was caught grabbing a couple bites of these.
