Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Like many reviewers, I added vegetables to the mix and there was still plenty of sauce. I also floured my chicken before cooking. I was getting tired of waiting for the sauce to thicken, so I added a tiny bit of cornstarch/water mixture and it was instant perfection. I would recommend low sodium soy sauce as it was quite salty, but I expected that.

Crab Canapes

First of all, super easy recipe. Like many others, I did not use the dinner rolls, but rather chose the buttermilk biscuits that were on sale. I flattened them out and they were kind of like crab pizzas. In my opinion, the curry is a must, so if you don't normally keep it on hand, you need to buy some for this recipe.

Naan

Super easy and delicious. I used regular all-purpose flour and while I couldn't tell the difference, others who eat naan on a more regular basis might want to stick w/ bread flour to avoid disappointment. I cooked the naan in the oven at 500 degrees and it worked well, but the heat from the oven while basting the bread in butter burned my hands pretty bad. Oven mitts as opposed to potholders would fix this.

Cauliflower and Tofu Masala

Fantastic! I felt like I was at an Indian restaurant. I did not have all of the spices, so I did without the coriander and cilantro. This is a spicy recipe, so if you like things mild, you should probably cut out the cayenne completely and maybe reduce the serrano. I served with homemade naan from this site and got rave reviews from my friends. Also, as you may have guessed, this makes way more than 4 servings for the average person.

Squash Pie

My roommate loves pumpkin pie, but I can never fully enjoy it knowing that it is packed with all of those calories. This version pleases everyone! My roommate asks for it all the time and doesn't miss the pumpkin version one bit.

Super Easy Doughnuts

Perfect! If you cut the recipe in half, you can still use the whole egg. This is a very forgiving recipe, especially if you skip rolling the dough and just drop bits of batter into the hot oil. That way you don't have to worry about having a sticky mess on your counter when you're finished.

Shrimp with Lobster Sauce

I'm super picky about my shrimp with lobster sauce, so I was a little hesitant to try this recipe, having never attempted to recreate my favorite Chinese dish, but I am so glad I did! The only changes I made was I halved the shrimp and added water chestnuts and bamboo shoots and a chicken bouillon cube per other reviewers recommendations. It just really needs some sort of veggie, so pick your favorites and add plenty of them since there is enough sauce to go around.

Sausage Balls

Delicious, but could really use a name change since I find Sausage Balls to sound quite unappealing. I've started calling them sausage delights, and they somehow sound a little healthier too;) I followed the suggestions of other reviews and baked the "delights" for about 20 minutes and they came out perfect. Less greasy than I imagined.

Beth's Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are as soft as can be and taste just like how my roommate used to make them. Also, they don't spread very much (because of the shortening, so you can fit a lot on a cookie sheet. I followed the recommendations for others and used baking powder instead of soda and added 1 tsp mayo. When you bake these cookies, the tops will be white when they are done, but golden brown on the bottom. They will look underdone, but won't deflate if you touch them.

Birthday Bones

These treats are fantastic! I made them for my friend's dog, but I had to try some as I was making them, and they are delicious. Now mind you, I followed someone else's advice and used applesauce instead of milk, so that may make a difference in flavor. It would be a great treat for a dog's birthday party so all of the attendees can enjoy the same food. I might make these just for myself sometime, who needs a dog?

Waffles I

Good and very easy, just not the best waffle I've ever eaten. I prefer buttermilk waffles, but since I don't usually keep buttermilk on hand, this recipe comes in handy for when I'm craving waffles.

Zucchini Pancakes

I made this as written and they were fantastic! As others have suggested, you could probably reduce the cheese by half and just add a little extra salt to make up for it. I didn't use any toppings as I found these pancakes to be super delicious all by themselves.

Bountiful Garden Zucchini Enchiladas

The cheese sauce is fantastic! I mostly followed the recipe, but I did add some left over ground beef to the filling and put a little salsa on the bottom to ensure that the enchiladas did not stick. This recipe makes much more than 4 servings, it was at least 8.

Sausage Brunch Muffins

My friends will always get excited when I make them these muffins. I did add some garlic powder and cheddar cheese (maybe a half cup?). I didn't bother with the chilies because I didn't have any. The cheese was really an important ingredient.

Curried Lentils

I love this recipe! Cheap, fast, and tasty. I used coconut milk (not cream) and it was plenty thick and delicious. I also added shrimp that I cooked in some oil and curry powder. My curry powder is very mild, so I added a little cayenne pepper to help it along. Great over couscous or rice.

Most Amazing Challah

Followed the recipe exactly (except for cutting the amount in half). I made half into bread, some into rolls, and some into cinnamon rolls. I was so eager to eat the bread that I kept trying to take it out of the oven before it was done. Absolutely delicious.
