Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
Wow...just made this tonight and it was fantastic. I made a few changes. I seasoned the chicken with Mrs Dash, used chicken broth instead of water, substituted one can of soup for cream of mushroom. I also used one can of biscuits (the large size 8 biscuit) and quartered each biscuit. I placed them on top of the chicken 2 hours before serving. They were perfect dumplings...even browned a bit. My husband went nuts for this! Thanks! I may try it next with a beef stew!

Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2011
This is sooo delicious! I cut the sugar and cornsyrup in half and used low fat half and half, it was a huge hit. I also doubled the Grand Marnier and used Kings Hawaiian bread leaving the crust on.

Indian Shrimp Curry

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
I just made this as part of a big Indian meal with several dishes and it was a hit! The only changes I made were that I used chopped fresh tomatoes and I added a chopped serano pepper because we like heat. Also I use 2 lbs of raw peeled shrimp. It cooks in the sauce in about 5 minutes. I think cooked shrimp would be too tough and not take on the flavor of all the spices as much.

Cherry Rhubarb Crunch

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
I just made this for a family pot luck and it was a huge hit! I doubled the cherries and mixed the rhubarb with the cherries instead of layering the rhubarb in first. I've never liked rhubarb much, but this was delicious! I also used steel cut oats because I didn't have rolled oats. It gave it a very nutty texture, next time I'll try it with the rolled oats.

Carrot and Raisin Salad II

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2011
just made this for an early Easter dinner side dish. It's really good, but I agree it needs to be made the day before. I wanted it just a touch sweeter so I added a tsp of honey and a dash of cinnamon. I also used golden raisins. I will definitely make this again.

Indian Eggplant - Bhurtha

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
Just made this last night and it was excellent. I followed the recipe exactly except for adding a tomato and I used 3 eggplants. After roasting them they shrink down alot. Next time I will add some more cayenne or a chili pepper because we like more heat. The flavor was delicious though. I served it over basmati rice with spicy chick peas and chicken curry. It was a big hit!

Master Recipe for Rich and Creamy Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
this came out great the first time I made it...no cracks, creamy texture! I used the Master recipe then customized it using the Lemon recipe. I used crushed gingersnaps, 1 1/4 cups plus 3 Tbsp butter for the crust. I made my own lemon curd for the topping for the first time and it was perfect, you just have to be patient and whisk constantly over a double broiler. Also only use fresh lemon juice and not the bottled stuff. The contrast between the sweet and tart flavors are amazing. Definitely a keeper!

Brownie Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
I've made this recipe 5 times and it's always a huge hit! I cut the cooking time to 45 min. and I turn off the oven and let it sit with the door cracked for half an hour. This cuts down on the cracking. If there is cracking it looks very pretty drizzled with some melted chocolate chips.

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
This was a delicious recipe, however, it needed more liquid so I added about a cup of milk and it was perfect. I also used crushed corn flakes mixed with butter for a crunchy topping. I also sauteed the onion, mushroom (fresh sliced baby bella), and some celery before adding the noodles.
