Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
This is really chocolatey and fudgy. Like others, I only added 2 eggs and omitted the baking powder. I also added 1/3 C of special dark chocolate chips and divided into the batter and also on top of it. Baked it no longer than 30 min and it came out purrrfect!. No burned edges or uncooked middle. I have to say that this one is A LOT BETTER than the "Best Brownies" recipe from this site. Okay I made it last night and followed the recipe exactly. With 3 eggs and the baking powder the texture is more cake like and a little bit drier. My husband seems to enjoy this one while I am more into the fudgy one that I made before. Anyway both are really good, just depends on how you like it.

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
Hmmm a good treat for winter time. I did put garlic powder, onion powder, and chicken seasoning into the milk broth to give it some flavour. Halved the recipe, used only half of the butter and flour to make the roux. Upped the cheese to 1 C and kept everything else the same. Very Very Yummy!

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
I really like this cornbread a lot. Like others, I only used 1/2 C of sugar and followed the rest according to the recipe. It came out moist, soft, crumbly (but not overtly crumbly), with the right sweetness. YuMM!

Fried Rice I

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
I just made it and it came out really good. I used 7 bacons, added in 1/4 C of cooked shredded chicken (leftovers) and didn't need to add the extra 2 tsp of oil. I also drizzled in a tsp of worchestershire sauce, and 2 TBSP of chopped celery and hmmm... it's really nummy.

Sausage Gravy I

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
Hmmm I made this for breakfast yesterday and it came out real good. In fact, it tastes so much better than those fast food restaurant chain that I've been to!. I halved the recipe though since there's only me and my husband, even that we still had leftovers.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
These cookies are really good. However, I did make some changes based on other reviews. I used 3 Tbsp sugar and 3 tsp of cinnamon powder for the topping. Also, I think it all depends on people's oven, I baked the first batch for 8 min and took it out right away, but it came too "set", crispy, and not chewy. So, on the later batches, I baked it only for 7 min and it came out perfect. Chewy, just the way hubby and I like it.

It tasted fine, not as good as I thought it would be.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2006
I am baking this right now and just tried one from the first batch. Ohh My GoD! Like Janice in "Friends" would say. hehe. Sooo Good! I made this with rolled oats instead of quick cooking oats, and followed the recipe exactly just the way it is! Why would you want to change it? =) It's definitely replacing my Nestle oatmeal chocolate chip cookies recipe. YumM!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2006
it's soft and fluffy and hmmm I like this although my other biscuit recipe still tops it all. That one though, used all purpose and cake flour, also buttermilk which I don't have right now. Afterall, for being quick and easy, this biscuit recipe is really good. ThankS!

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2006
SOOO GOOD! I used 4 C of cooked macaroni, 2 cans of tuna, one can cream of chicken soup, one can of cream of mushroom soup, 1/4 C of milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, blackpepper powder, 2 TBSP mayonnaise, and 1 tsp of dijon mustard. I put some cheddar cheese with the pasta mixture and put on top a combination of cheddar cheese and Italian mix cheese. On top of that, I melted 4 TBSP of butter, combined with 8 TBSP of seasoned bread crumbs and sprinkled on top of the cheese. This is totally Da Bomb!

Indian Chicken Curry II

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
This is good, but still, it seems like it's missing something, doesn't have that rich creamy tasty curry flavour to it. You definitely don't need to put in the lemon, it's already sour just the way it is, that is why I put in a little bit more sugar to balance it out. Also I put in kaffir lime leaves instead of the lemon and it made the dish smelled soooo good.

Pizza Dough II

I like this pizza crust, although my hubby still likes Jay's pizza crust on this site better. It's a little bit too chewy and hard on the crust though.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2006
The temperature was too high. Next time I would only put it on 350' and decrease the baking time, both the crust and the filling. I used only 1/3C of the lemon juice and both me and hubby agreed that it can go up to 1/2C or so then it'll be perfect. Although, this recipe itself is still very easy and taste good.

Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2006
Dissappointing. I thought it would turn out so good but even hubby didn't care for it. I used this for the chantal's new york cheesecake, but he preferred the caramel sauce topping instead of this. Lack of taste I guess...

Toasted Garlic Bread

So easy and flavorful! I added Italian Seasoning and adjust the garlic to your own liking. It's wonderfully cheesy and garlicky. Just like how garlic bread's supposed to be.

It's a very easy recipe and works well when you need chocolate sauce in a snap without lots of ingredients. Overall, it tastes okay.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
This cheesecake is amazing! After I combined the graham crackers with the butter and tuck into the base of springform pan, I put it in the freezer for 15 min, or you can put it in the fridge for an hour to make sure it doesn't get messy and stays firm after baking. Baked for an hour with a bigger pan filled with water (au bain marie), and make sure cover the bottom of the springform pan with aluminium foil. I never once opened the oven door, went to the mall and when we came back, it stayed there for around 2 hours and it looked beautiful. No cracks or whatsoever and taste delicious. Dip the knive in hot water before cutting. Thanks a lot for the recipe. Hubby says it's one of the best cheesecake out there!
