Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2012
These were really delicious!! Ok, now it's time to break my own rule: don't review a recipe until you've followed it EXACTLY. I find it disprespectful when people are like, "I followed the recipe exactly EXCEPT.... and it turned out terrible!!!!!!!!!!" and stuff like that. But to my defense, the only reason I tweaked the recipe was that I didn't have all-purpose flour on hand and I was really craving cookies. What I did was I used 2 cups cake flour and 1 cup bread flour; the result was FANTASTIC. Also, I want to say, you MUST use the brown packed sugar. It gives the cookie a light chewy amazingness. You might want to refrigerate the batter too; I didn't but I know that it can make a cookie a whole lot yummier!!! **UPDATE** I made another batch of these cookies with refrigerated dough, and they ARE even better!! Also, I like my cookies crunchy and slightly overdone, so I left them in the oven for about 15 minutes. They were like....... MMMMM...........

Chunky Cheesecake Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2012
the taste is out of this world! especially if you use dark chocolate chips. Although the brownie part of the recipe was WAY more like a cake (soft, breadlike), and the cheesecake part is BARELY tasteable, and it's nothing like i was expecting, it's STILL good. really, really, REALLY good. EVEN though 1/2 of the brownie batter was NOT enough to cover the bottom of the pan, and i ended up using about 3/4 instead. EVEN though the cheesecake layer BARELY covered the brownie layer. EVEN though the last brownie layer ended up just covering the middle, and I had to spread it out EXTREMELY thin. EVEN though the marble part DIDNT really work out. THEYRE STILL GOOD. ACTUALLY, THEY'RE AMAZING. so yeah, I had some problems with the amount, but the taste makes up for it. totally.

Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
This cake is REALLY good. REALLY. but these few tips, i think, will make the recipe easier and more foolproof. 1) the quality of your chocolate really matters. I used Ghirardelli 60% chocolate chips. FYI, 6 oz of choc chips is 1 cup. 2) don't skip the egg yolks. For some reason, using whole eggs isn't as good. Hmmmmm... 3) there's really no need to flour the ramekins. if you "butter" them well, the cakes won't stick. 4) check the oven often. You don't want to undercook (too much "liquid") OR overcook (no "liquid"). I ended up keeping them in there for 11 minutes. 5) tap the ramekins to kill all air bubbles before putting them in the oven. 6) putting all of the ramekins on a cookie pan makes it easier to put them in/ take them out of the oven. 7) let the cakes cool for a few minutes before unmolding them. This will prevent the liquid center from coming out when you flip the cakes onto a plate. The middle should still be liquid though. I hope these tips make life easier for you :) this recipe really is awesome!

PHILLY Chocolate Turtles® Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
A little time consuming, and the caramel crust really stuck hard to the pan... However, this cake is worth the trouble. Believe me, it's so rich, and dark, and smooth, and SO PERFECT!!!!! my advice: don't waste time asking yourself if this recipe is worth it. you won't be disappointed!!

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
Perfect cookie all around. I like to use ghiradelli dark chocolate morsels (ironic, 'cos the recipe is nestle toll house) but any other choc. chips work fine. Made these on several occasions and they have turned out perfect every single time. Just follow the recipe exactly. Looking for a recipe to tweak? Look somewhere else :)

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
At first, straight from the oven, these cookies are amazing! Like brownie cookies... Then, when cooled, they smell weird and taste more like dry biscotti... And then, after a few days, they smell funky..... i don't think I'll be making these again....

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
OH MY GOODNESS...... these are soooo delicious that 24 turned into 8 at dinner... then 3 at breakfast.... then 0 at lunch.......... I used to hate banana bread, but let me say this: IF YOU DO NOT TRY THIS RECIPE YOU ARE MISSING OUT BIG TIME!!!!! and don't "alter" the recipe and then give it a low rating. This recipe deserves 10 stars as it is (except that you can use normal flour, sugar, etc)!!

Berry Tiramisu Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
This cake is absolutely phenomenal. I made this for 60 people at a Christmas party (i had to use 5 pans). I have to say, though, it took me all day (literally!) to make it. It's probably way easier with just one pan, though. ANYWAYS!!!!! The cake tasted amazing even though i didn't mix the egg whites into the batter well enough so some parts came out stiffer and chewier than others... There were less people at the party than I expected, so I was VERY worried that i would have so much left over. I was totally wrong! there was not a slice left. Some people didn't even get to taste the cake because everyone wanted to take some home!! And to top it off,the cake looks so beautiful. We only used strawberries and covered all the cakes with the leftover cream. and even after that, there was so much cream left that I stored it in a container and used it as a spread for a while. Thanks for the recipe!!!!!!

French Breakfast Muffins

Instead of sprinkling with cinnamon sugar, I get a packet of cream cheese, add several vigorous dashes of cinnamon, 3-4 heaping spoonfuls of powder sugar, and microwave. Mix and taste, add more cinnamon/sugar as needed. :) then I either heap it onto the muffins or make little holes in them to fill. Delish!

These were very moist and came out pretty. My mom LOVED them and said they were perfect. To me, they weren't chocolatey enough and the vanilla overpowered the other flavors. Actually, they were like black vanilla muffins and they tasted really good :) Just not the way I would have liked.

Chocolate Chip Pie III

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
I made this for a school project: Make a dish from your favorite state. I was surfing the web for a kentucky dessert without bourbon and came across this. Since someone posted a comment saying the traditional kentucky derby pie and this were similar, I decided to do this. SO GLAD I DID!!!!! Everyone loved it (I served it with vanilla ice cream)! I did stick it in the fridge overnight, which made it taste kind of like a cookie rather than the brownie-like flavor it has when the chocolate chips were melted.
