Sweet Potato Pound Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2002
Beautiful presentation for Thanksgiving. Nice fall colors, and the sweet potato adds an interesting flavor. Will make again.

Caramel Brownies II

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2002
These were terrible! I followed the recipe exactly as written. They burned around the edges and were still completely underdone in the center. The few that were usable in the middle of the pan were greasy and heavy. A real disappointment. Don't know how it got all those rave reviews. Will not make again...will probably trash the few I salvaged from the middle of the pan.

Cherry Poppyseed Twinks

If I could only give these 10 stars! They are fantastic. The poppy seeds are a nice change. Thanks!

Beautiful! I added one drop of red food coloring. Wonderful addition to my Christmas cookie trays.

Smothered Bacon Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
Although tender, the taste in the sauce was terrible. Tasted like straight mayonaise, despite the garlic powder and Worcestshire that I added. Will not make again.

Beef Tips

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2002
I was so disappointed with this recipe! I found it entirely too salty, and that has never happened before. I added an extra packet of gravy mix as suggested, but I found that it still had too much liquid. Sorry, but I won't try this again.

Broccoli Beef I

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2002
Not too impressed. I won't make again. The sauce never thickened, and the beef broth diluted the flavor.

Baked Onion Dip II

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2002
I was surprised the read so many reviews about the grease--with 2 cups of mayo and 2 of cheese, how could it not be? Overall, I thought it was great. I have had it with swiss cheese as well as cheddar. Serve with corn chips.

Gourmet Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2002
I was skeptical about this one, but I decided to give it a try anyway. I'm glad I did. I used fat-free Ranch, and I could definitely taste the "tang" that fat-free dressings have. Next time, I will use the real thing. Also, I pre-baked the crust as the recipe says, and by the end of the cooking time, my crust was too brown. I will not pre-bake the crust next time. Overall, good flavor and nice change from regular pizza.

Tasty Tuna Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2002
Recipe pretty good as is, but next time, I will make the following changes: use regular bread crumbs--not Italian flavored. The oregano was overpowering. Also, use green onion and not regular. I think celery salt can be used for celery, and like other reviewers, I left out the dill all together. I added cajun seasoning, and although it was spicy, we loved it. I will definitely make these again with the above listed alterations.

Chicken Spaghetti Casserole I

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2002
This was fantastic! I did make the following adjustments: I used cream of chicken soup instead of mushroom, and I used chicken broth instead of the wine. Super easy, makes lots, and improves with age!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2002
Excellent! I did substitute fat free evaporated milk for the whipping cream and also added a little flour to thicken the mixture. The taste was wonderful even with this change.

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2002
These were great! I left out the nuts, and they were still tasty. Super easy. Could probably be doubled in a 9x13 pan with no trouble.
