Bacon Pork Chops with BBQ Glaze

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
Totally delicious! The only thing I didn't do was the instructions on how to fry the bacon-wrapped pork chops - just fry the bacon and then bake on top of the pork chops. If I missed out on something I didn't know about it, as it turned out just great this way.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2013
These are fantastic! I took the basic concept and followed the Toll House recipe for the cookie dough (used egg substitute instead of eggs for safety - no egg at all would have made the dough too crumbly and dry), and I followed the yellow cake mix instructions. I covered the bottom of the cupcake tins with cake batter, dropped in a ball of frozen dough, and just barely covered with more batter. They are delicious - thanks for the recipe, LTH! I'm looking forward to trying the brownie batter version soon.

Quiche Supreme

Reviewed: May 13, 2012
Quite good! I eliminated the mushrooms and substituted bacon crumbles for the ham and added more red and green pepper and onion. Next time I'll throw in some broccoli as well. Really good!

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: May 13, 2012
These were just OK for me. I took the suggestions of some reviewers to add some vanilla and sugar, but even with that they still tasted kind of egg-y. I think I'll experiment with other crepe recipes before passing serious judgment on these, but I was not excited about them.

Best Ever Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2013
Very tasty with some tortilla chips. My boyfriend insisted I only give it a four because I used "too much green stuff, not enough white stuff," but he was chomping it down pretty heartily, so I think you win five stars ;)

Crispy Potato Wedges

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2012
Pretty good! As other reviewers said, I think it would be fun to experiment with adding more flavor to these with whatever happens to be in the kitchen, but they were pretty tasty as is. Instead of tossing all the ingredients in a bowl, I drizzled the oil on each side and then added the salt, pepper, and garlic powder before baking on either side. Smothered in ketchup, these were great! So they will definitely show up on our table again.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Pretty good! I will cut back on the parmesan a bit next time and add some bread crumbs, but otherwise very tasty.

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
This was quick and easy, and the chicken comes out verrrry tender when cooked this way, so I really liked it for the amount of effort required. It could stand some dressing up if you have the time; however, this works on its own if you want something fast that requires just a few ingredients.

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
Made this for the family and they LOVED IT! The only things I changed were 1) cooking the ground beef in taco seasoning instead of using the chili powder, and 2) not using taco sauce, just 'cause I didn't have any. The real appeal of this one is being able to add whatever toppings you like on top of it - sour cream, lettuce, tomato, salsa, olives, etc. I'll be making this on again!

Blackened Chicken Pizza with Yellow Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
This was fantastic, especially paired with a homemade pizza crust. We eliminated the thyme and jalepeno simply because we didn't have them, substituted onion salt for salt and onion powder, and used red tomatos instead of yellow. These changes may have cut down on the spiciness a little that way, which was OK with us. Definitely will make this again.

Double Chocolate Brownies from Egg Farmers of Ontario

These are delicious. I have made them a few times and they never fail to impress. I am just about to take another pan out of the oven, half topped with bacon :)

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2012
So, this was my first time frying chicken, and I'll admit that I was not prepared for it. This is a very harrowing thing to do for the first time (and without tongs, no less)! I managed not to set the kitchen on fire, and produced some very tasty-looking fried chicken at the end. However, the reason I am giving it two stars is because, made exactly the way the recipe is written, this tastes exactly like crackers on top of chicken. It needs a lot more flavor and seasoning, as several other reviewers stated, and I was disappointed in the outcome. I will have to play around with this more after I get up the nerve again, but the take-home lesson here is to come armed with additional ingredients, because these alone will not do it.

They were too crunchy for my taste, and not enough flavor. I probably won't make these again.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2012
Really tasty! I followed the tip to shred the chicken after about 3 hours, which soaked up some of the extra sauce. I was worried for a bit because it was so thin, but shredding the chicken pretty much elimnated that issue. Definitely making this again!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2012
Very tasty! They came out just a *tad* crispier than I normally like after 20 minutes at 400 degrees, but did not stop me from enjoying them. I just made the muffins without the crumble top. I recommend this one!

Pretty good, given the relatively small amount of time and effort required to prepare. I replaced the water with chicken broth and left everything else as is.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2013
Didn't get to try these, but the expressions on my boyfriend's and family's faces said enough for me. I did add some BBQ sauce and cut back a little on the chili sauce and ketchup, but used everything else as the recipe states.
