Sesame Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2014
So, yummy even with the modifications. I used low sodium soy sauce. 2 TBS white sugar and 1 TBS Splenda. (I think I will go one TBS each just to make it less sweet). Used my Foodsaver marinate container and it was ready to cook in 30 minutes. With the extra sauce I stir fried cabbage, carrots, asparagus, mushrooms, cauliflower and noodles. There was not a teaspoon left. Thank you for sharing.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2013
This was good. I followed the recipe except I used low sodium soy sauce and added 3 bell peppers. Honestly, I could have put in more peppers and I would have been a happy girl. I will follow other reviewers advice and put the peppers in when there is about 2 hours left to have them be a little less soft. This dish made a lot of "sauce". With about 15 minutes remaining, I scooped up 1/3 cup of sauce and mixed a heaping tablespoon of cornstarch. Wisked it smooth and returned it to the crockpot that I had increased to high. This thickened it nicely. We served the meal over egg noodles. Thanks for sharing.

Steak on a Stick

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2013
Although I thought the recipe was a bit too salty, my husband just raved about it. I did keep to the recipe except I used fresh ground ginger and freshly minced garlic. We will have this again. Thanks for sharing

Baked Omelet Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2012
Made this today and did like it. I really like that it is made without bread or potatoes. Since it is just hubby and me, I halved the recipe. Used the optional ham. Used a mix of sharp and mild cheddar. We just felt it was missing something. Next time I will add a small can of chopped green chilis to see if that does the trick. I will also get a picture posted as soon as I can. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Delectable Marinated Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2012
Made as directed except for the garlic pepper. In my rural area that is impossible to find. So I did 1/8 tsp of garlic and 1/8 tsp of black pepper. The recipe was delicous. I can't think of any way to improve on this unless I was wanting to have it a bit more spicy. Then I might add some cayenne pepper to the mix. Yummy and the leftovers the next day were wonderful, too.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
We really liked this dish. For the meat portion, I more "eyeballed" the amounts except for the Worcestershire sauce. I was able to make 4 good sized meat patties. Mixed this early and let the flavors meld for several hours. I did omit the sherry. Added some mushrooms when the onions were translucent. (Prior to adding the beef broth.) Served with thin sliced pan cooked potatoes and some french style green beans.

Gumbo Style Chicken Creole

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
We really loved the flavor of this dish. I did alter it a little so I will put it out there for everyone how I altered and let them decide. 1st I used some canola oil and some butter (about 4 tablespoons of each with the flour. I only let it bubble for 2 or 3 minutes 2nd at this point is was a little too goey so added about 1 cup of homemade chicken stock. 3rd I used frozen chopped onion and green pepper about 1/3 cup each (defrosted in the microwave) Mixed with the roux and let simmer while I got the rest of the ingredients together 4th-Added the rest of the ingedients as stated, but omitted the salt. 5th I added about a half a pound of diced smoked sausage and about 1 Tablespoon of cajun seasoning blend. Let this simmer for about 10-15 minutes. Served over rice for hubby and noodles for me. I think I said this before, but I loved the flavor.
