Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2014
I'll give this 5 stars too. I made it just as written with half the amount of water. However I'm telling you .... You don't need NEAR that much sugar!!! It's a keeper but I'd diminish the sugar by at least 1/3!

Another 5 star review. Bake them in a 9x13. Prepare ahead night before and then bake in am. Best cinnamon roll out there!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2014
Seriously. You do not have to add all those extra ingredients/change stuff up with this recipe. It is WONDERFUL as written! Mine was done in just under 5 hours on HIGH. I cooked 2 cans of the biscuits (as written) for 30 minutes -- PERFECT. The only thing was that we were REALLY thirsty later that night -- probably from the creamed canned soups, but it did not TASTE salty. Next time, I MIGHT try to use the lower sodium cream soup, but otherwise, this one is a keeper.

Creamy Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
This was good but a little watery. I would cut back on the broth. I added in some gloves and a little extra nutmeg. I will definitely make this one again as it was very good!

Pumpkin Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2011
This is very, very, VERY good. This is well worth making as it is one of the best soups I have ever made. I did not add the ham and threw in a bay leaf -- otherwise, I left everything as written and would highly recommend it.

Turkey Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
These are AWESOME! I used brown rice. I omitted the water and used one larger can of tomato sauce. To the beef, I added in garlic, freshly cracked black pepper and 2 T italian seasonings. Just taste the beef mixture before you stuff the leaves and add a little more italian seasonings if it tastes really bland. The suace on top will flavor the rolls as well. I made these the night before and popped them in the oven the next night. VERY good. I doubled the recipe for my neighbor and she raved about them toO! My 12 year old and 6 year old son both ate 2 rolls and wanted MORE!

Apple and Spice Pork Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
Best pork recipe i have EVER tried. I used a 3-pound roast and put potatoes and carrots around it, added a little bit of water and covered it with foil. 3 hours later it was done -- moist!!!!! The sauce really makes this dish. Serve the sauce PIPING hot.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Very good! I did not add in the oil. I added in 8 ounces of tomato sauce and 8 ounces of water. W/o the sour cream and w/o the cheese, this drops it to 170 calories a serving -- Not bad! My boys even gobbled it up. I don't like spicy foods, so this was really good. My husband added a dash of habernero sauce and it was perfect for him.

Ham and Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2008
This was good. I did not put the olives in. I thought it needed a bit more onions and maybe a dash of celery seed. I also took some Chicken 'N Biscuit Crackers and crushed them and sprinkled them on top. Took it to a potluck dinner and it disappeared!

Family really liked this. I used: 4 small chicken breasts, 1/2 C chopped apple, 1/4 C shredded cheese, 3 T bread crumbs, 2 T walnuts 1 tsp cinnamon, 4 T brown sugar, dash onion powder, Olive oil in the pan. Browned them REALLY well. Then added 1 can of chicken broth and simmered. Took the breasts out and added the cornstarch a few extra apple chunks and 1 T brown sugar. OHHHHHHH YUM!!! Very nice presentation!

Chip Chicken Lollipops

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
You weren't kidding! My boys ate this so fast that I missed them even eating it! I did not make the whole recipe, and I wish I would have. I used BBQ chips and followed the recipe exactly. I used bamboo skewers and put 4 chunks on each skewer. It was really easy to make. I served them up with 3 little sauce dishes containing Ranch Dressing, Ketchup, and BBQ sauce. They felt so important!

Linguine with Chicken and Sauteed Vegetables

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
Very good. I lightly browned the garlic in olive oil -- a little more than 1/4 Cup and then removed it from the heat. I did use the pasta water as it was still hot to quickly cook my chopped veggies. I used a pasta spoon to get the linguine out of the pot and then threw my chopped veggies in the water. I served it on a large meat platter, and it was beautiful. I topped it with freshly grated parmesean cheese. I used the soy sauce and the lime juice but no cilantro. Great recipe that makes a lot of food and looks great!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2003
Excellent! I used the Golden soup. Next time, I will double the ingredients EXCEPT FOR the Italian dressing. It was very salty but not so much that I did not still like it. Also recommend cutting the breasts into small cutlets. I served it with steamed broccoli on the side.

Gourmet Chicken Sandwich

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2003
I made this for my husband when he came home from work. He thought he had done something awfully good to deserve this sandwich!!! I bought the bread, but I saw a mix for it in the bread machine box aisle. I think I'll try making my own next time. VERY GOOD!
