Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2006
This is a wonderful recipe. After reading reviews I doubled the recipe, mashed the bananas and added pecans and mini chocolate chips. The double batch yeilded 16 mini loaves and 6 regular size muffins. They are a big hit with the family.

Beef Samosas

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2006
Once you get the hang of how to fold these its not as hard to do as you think. I made these for superbowl and every one loved them. I modified the recipe to use garam masala instead of all the other spices,(except indian chilli powder) it was a lot less expensive that way, and tasted very good. I added too much chilli powder and had to stretch out the filling so it wouldn't be too hot, (I added an extra pound of ground beef).I also forgot to add the chopped green chiles and cilantro, we didn't even notice they were gone. I don't think I would add the fresh chiles but I would add the cilantro next time. Because of the extra beef my batch made twice as much filling and I used 2 boxes of fillo dough.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2003
I made these last night, a big hit with my family. They do take longer than 20 minutes to cook, mine took 45 minutes. I would suggest a disposable pan for cooking, (I am not looking forward to chipping the sugar off the pan)I lined the broiler bottom with foil, but not the top. I did not marinate as some suggested, they were great anyway !! One more suggestion, soak the toothpicks in water before you get started, mine were burned black, not very pretty...

Banana Cake III

Reviewed: May 20, 2003
This was SOOOO simple! I did not make the frosting, I just sprinkled on powdered sugar.I added walnuts to the batter, and baked it in a 9'x13'pan,for 28-30 minutes. I can't wait to make it again with the frosting(I did not have all the stuff for the frosting this time)Great Recipe Sally!!!

I make a soup very similar to this, I use a 16 ounce bag of frozen mixed veggies, instead of canned peas.A can of diced tomatoes is also good. I also add 2/3c barley.

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2003
This was very simple to make with ingredients most of us already have on hand. I added a can of pears (I diced them), because most coffee cakes get pretty dry, I added chopped walnuts to the topping. It came out great, very moist.I think tart apples would be a great addition too. I have been making this cake alot, my families favorite add in fruit is mandarin oranges, I omit the cinnamon topping and make a powder sugar glaze with orange juice (from the mandarins or reguar o.j., whichever is on hand)really yummy to take to work or school if it lasts that long.
