Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
These pancakes are really tasty because they are so dense and, well, fluffy! I didn't have any white vinegar so I used rice vinegar, and I didn't have plain white sugar so I used Sugar in the Raw instead. They tasted great! Just remember to put the pan on MEDIUM heat like it says in the recipe! I accidentally made the pan too hot and ended up burning four of my pancakes. I had only made three before hand, which were fine, so I ended up with three normal size pancakes and five little bite-size cakes because I ran out of batter. But they were still a great breakfast!

Gingered Tea

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2012
This tea was extremely flavorful and is a great choice for a chilly evening in autumn. I didn't have any honey, so I substituted that for maple syrup. Also, I didn't have any ground ginger, so I substituted ground allspice for that. I used 3/4 cup liquid chai tea from a carton and the 3/4 cup milk and put it in the microwave for two minutes. I simmered the allspice and the maple syrup like you were supposed to for 10 minutes and then added the mixture to the chai and milk. Delicious! I would give it a higher rating if I had the proper ingredients and knew how it was supposed to actually taste!

I didn't have any lemon-lime soda, but it didn't need it! Absolutely wonderful!

These just didn't taste right to me and they were mushy. Don't overtook them!!

Wildfire Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2011
This is the best pulled pork recipe I have ever had! The only changes I made were using chicken broth instead of water and using KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce instead of the Wildfire sauce. AMAZING!!!

Gingered Pears

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
This is an AMAZING recipe! I did make a few minor changes: I didn't peel the pears because I didn't have a peeler, and then I took advice from other reviewers and added some slices of fresh ginger in the second half of cooking. It was sooo good! I did find that it took less than 25 minutes to cook, more like 10. Other than that, verrrry good!

Easy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
Even though this had great mint flavor, it didn't quite work out. This was my first time using the ice cream maker, so I was a little confused how this recipe was described. I added the chocolate chips when there were 10 minutes left in the freezing, and when I transfered it to a bowl to freeze, all the chocolate chips sank to the bottom of the container. And it also didn't have the right consistency I was looking for after two hours. I don't think I'll be making this again.

Easy Lemonade

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
This is the perfect lemonade! It wasn't too sweet, which I liked, but it wasn't too tart. I only made about two servings, so I didn't measure out the ingredients. I used the juice of 1 and 1/2 lemons and roughly 1/2 cup sugar and 3/4 cup water. Delicious!

Chocolate Mint Milkshake

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2011
This was an amazing milkshake! It is absolutely perfect! One thing that might bother you, however, is the amount of peppermint extract. You have to watch how much you put in, otherwise it will get too peppermint-y.

Cucumber Salad I

Reviewed: May 25, 2011
This was pretty good. I made a few alterations by adding halved cherry tomatoes and freshly chopped mint. I also used red wine vinegar because that's what I had on hand. It was delicious and very refreshing.....will be making this again.

Broiled Scallops

Reviewed: May 25, 2011
I have never broiled anything n my life, so I thought I would try it along with it was my first time cooking scallops. I recommend adding a lot more seasonings to the scallops because they are pretty bland with just the lemon and salt and butter. And they weren't cooking very nicely in the broiler, so I moved them to a saute pan for a few minutes. They were pretty good.

Harvest Yams

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
Even though these were good, they took WAY longer than 25 minutes to cook. They took more like 45 minutes to cook. I suggest cooking them longer than what the recipe states. And I did not have nutmeg, so I used ginger. They were pretty good.

Balsamic Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
This was a great recipe! I didn't have any blue cheese, so I didn't use it. I thought the end result was a bit mild, so I added some lemon juice, and it was GREAT! I wish I had had that cheese, though. I think it would've given it a much richer flavor.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
This was pretty good, but I can't give it 5 stars because there was hardly any sauce. The sauce that was put on there drained right to the bottom and left the broccoli damp and tasteless with the cashews. I recommend adding more sauce.

Gnocchi Bake

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
This recipe is absolutely delicious! This was my first time cooking gnocchi, and thought this looked good. Was it ever! I tasted the gnocchi after cooking it, and was surprised at how bland it was. I was hoping it wouldn't be so bland after I mixed it with the sauce and cheese and sausage. It turned out brilliantly! Thanks for the awesome recipe!

Peanut Butter Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
These took 20 minutes to bake up in the oven. And then, they still weren't moist and chewy like cookies are supposed to be! And I had leftover batter that was dry and didn't form into balls. I do not recommend this recipe.

Baked Soy Lemon Chops

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
From reading other reviews, I thought I would also find it too salty, so I used 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce and 1/4 cup water. Actually, the end result ended up not salty enough, so I recommend using 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce.

Swanson® Ultra Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
I loooove this potatoes! They're absolutely heavenly! The only thing was that I found 'light cream' hard to find, so I ended up using whipping cream. Delicious! I also recommend adding a dash of garlic powder, and a tablespoon salt.

Smoked Turkey

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
I really liked this recipe! But I had a problem with my smoker, which wasn't getting hot enough, so six hours into the smoking, I transferred the turkey to the oven and finished cooking it at 400 degrees for 1 hour. It was very good, but I recommend adding turkey gravy for flavor.
