I used this recipe to make my first cheesecake ever and it came out perfect! I followed the recipe exactly and used tips given by other reviewers. I used room temperature ingredients and only mixed the batter to blended, careful not to overbeat. I also used a waterbath in the oven and left the cheesecake in the oven for about 3 hours. The result was a smooth, creamy cheesecake that was not cracked, dry or mealy. I was very careful, took my time and read through the recipe completely. Everyone raved about the cheesecake and I will be making this over and over again. I must warn that this made a HUGE cheesecake! This recipe could be cut in half and use a smaller springform pan to make a more reasonable cheesecake size.
