Beef Cabbage Stew

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
I really liked this. My mom made this reipce at least once when I was in high school, and I liked it then. I had half of a small cabbage to use up, and some stew meat in the freezer, so this was perfect. I used one can of breef broth in place of the water/boullion, and threw everything into the crockpot all day after browning the meat. The cabbage cooked down nicely and the stew got thick. I did thicken a bit more with some flour/water, but it doesn't really need it. I did not need to add any salt to this recipe.

Banana Muffins I

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
These were ok- but kind of dry and bland and not special enough to make again.

Mom's Turkey Sausage Patties

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
I love this recipe- and I also love the idea of it- yummy homemade turkey sausage with no nitrates, and you control the salt! I scaled the recipe down to 4 servings- using 1 lb of ground turkey, and only used 1/2 tsp. salt and it was perfect. It was also so easy. I made the patties the night before and then cooked them the next day.

Mango Lassi II

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
This was good, but the mangos made it taste incredibly chalky. At least the kids enjoyed. 4 stars because I know it is not the recipe's fault!

Slow Cooker Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
Loved this- SO good with the coconut milk! I used TJ's light coconut milk and it was fine- just separated a tiny bit from the sauce, but I was expecting that. I did not have tandoori masala and just used extra garam masala. I also added ground ginger. I had to add a bit more spices before we ate, as the slow cooker tends to mute their flavors. I added the yogurt right before serving so it would not curdle. Loved this!

Chocolate Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I thought this was great-and I made it as stated, did not use corn syrup or milk. I made this in the 1st place to avoid corn syupr in the purchased variety, and I wanted it to last a while, so no milk. It is fine as is! It is a choc sauce/syrup, not hot fudge! I use this in choc. milk and it's wonderful. So much better than storebought choc. syrup. I put it in a used, clean Hershey's syrup bottle. :)

Avocado-Corn Salad with Creamy Salsa Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Good- I think the dressing benefited from a spoonful of sour cream and a dash of taco seasoning. This was a very pretty salad.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
This was incredibly tasty and incredibly easy. I loved it. A lot. I've never made "real" Alfredo sauce before. I want to try this again with some grilled chicken.

Tomato Gorgonzola Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
This was SO good. I modified like some other reviwers; used all milk and no cream, and used roasted red bell peppers, and used my immersion blender. I used some homemade turkey broth too. I can't get gorgonzola here, so I use some mild Danish blue. I didn't use the full amount (did put extra in my bowl) due to a blue-cheese hating fam, but they had no idea it was in there. Had grilled cheese sandwiches with this- SO GOOD!!!

Easy Lemonade

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
This lemonade was very weak- it needed both more lemons and more sugar. I added about 1/4 cup extra lemon juice, and it was still weak. Used all fresh lemons from a friend's tree.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
Good and simple recipe. Very easy too. It made plenty of "juice" without doubling the recipe. I used boneless chops- they don't need to cook as long.

Robbi's M&M Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
These were good. They were kind of puffy cookies, but still soft and good. I used half unsalted butter, half organic shortening.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
Very good and flavorful! I would not add any salt though; 2 teaspoons would have killed this for me! (And it's just bad for you). I actually left out 1 TBS of W. sauce because it's so salty, and added none of the salt. This was perfect!

Grilled Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
This was good, and so easy! I bought the wrong pepper- a red one instead of green, but just used it anyway, and it was good in there. The potatoes were cooked to perfection in the time stated in the recipe. The white sauce was easy to make; this one is hard to mess up!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2010
This was good and easy- served on Texas toast garlic bread. I used a pork roast, not a tenderloin. You'd have to be crazy to use a tenderloin in the crockpot!

Pepperoni Caesar Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2010
I increased the pasta to 2 cups, uncooked, and the dressing amount was still good. This was ok. I just don't think I like the cold-ish pepperoni. A lot did get eaten at the event I brought it to.

Fudge Puddles

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
These are really good- the dough is just a little sticky to work with, and the chocolate has a hard time melting smooth, but they are so cute and yummy that it's worth it.

Cream-Filled Cupcakes

The whole fam loved these- glazed with Satiny CHocolate Glaze from this site, and did the squiggly line on top w/leftover filling. Used my Wilton Eclair tip to fill these- so fun! Pretty easy, too!

Wonderful Waffles

Really good! Light, crisp and fluffy. It did dirty a lot of bowls, so I probably won't make it often, but a good recipe to try. I loved the use of buttermilk.

French Toast Bake

This was a great recipe- I was out of pecans and blueberries, so I just used the base recipe, but I've made many similar dishes before and know they would have been delicious!
